Book excerpt: Most people want their lives to matter. We want our work and even our organizations to have an impact on others. We want to help people grow stronger, and to change situations for the positive. We want to leave people and places better than we found them. We desire to make a difference. And for those who lead organizations, this desire is often even stronger. This book was written to help you make that deep impact. The tools inside this book can empower you to make a difference each and every day. Each chapter is based on a life principle that can empower you and your organization to bring impact that matters. But there is a catch, you must not just read this book, you must powerfully embrace these life principles to be a legacy maker.
Download or read book Legacy written by Marcum Davis and published by Morgan James Publishing. This book was released on 2024-06-11 with total page 231 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Legacy was written to simplify the process and accelerate people’s pursuit of a purposeful life filled with the satisfaction and impact their hearts are longing for. Legacy makers aren’t born. They’re made. It has been taught that legacies were meant for the rich, famous, world leaders, and innovators. However, after observing a relatively unknown man build a legacy that rivaled many of the most notable people in history, Marcum Davis came to understand that legacies are not reserved for the elite. In fact, they are attainable for people from all walks of life. But how does one build a legacy? How can a “regular” person lead an impactful life of purpose and fulfillment worth remembering? After years of study and practice, Marcum discovered a fundamental five-part formula that anyone can apply to their daily lives, known as the P.E.A.C.E. Legacy Formula, which he shares in the pages of Legacy. Following the P.E.A.C.E. Legacy Formula will begin to improve one’s quality of life from the start, as they begin to feel their excitement and energy rise up and touch everything they do. Legacy was written for anyone who wants to make the most of each day and live a more meaningful life. It serves as a guide and support system in the creation of a life and legacy that impacts not only the individual, but their loved ones, and the world around them.

Book Synopsis The Legacy of Early Franciscan Thought by : Lydia Schumacher
Download or read book The Legacy of Early Franciscan Thought written by Lydia Schumacher and published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG. This book was released on 2021-01-18 with total page 539 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The legacy of late medieval Franciscan thought is uncontested: for generations, the influence of late-13th and 14th century Franciscans on the development of modern thought has been celebrated by some and loathed by others. However, the legacy of early Franciscan thought, as it developed in the first generation of Franciscan thinkers who worked at the recently-founded University of Paris in the first half of the 13th century, is a virtually foreign concept in the relevant scholarship. The reason for this is that early Franciscans are widely regarded as mere codifiers and perpetrators of the earlier medieval, largely Augustinian, tradition, from which later Franciscans supposedly departed. In this study, leading scholars of both periods in the Franciscan intellectual tradition join forces to highlight the continuity between early and late Franciscan thinkers which is often overlooked by those who emphasize their discrepancies in terms of methodology and sources. At the same time, the contributors seek to paint a more nuanced picture of the tradition’s legacy to Western thought, highlighting aspects of it that were passed down for generations to follow as well as the extremely different contexts and ends for which originally Franciscan ideas came to be employed in later medieval and modern thought.
Book Synopsis Studies on Locke: Sources, Contemporaries, and Legacy by : Sarah Hutton
Download or read book Studies on Locke: Sources, Contemporaries, and Legacy written by Sarah Hutton and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2008-09-16 with total page 295 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: John Cottingham In the anglophone philosophical world, there has, for some time, been a curious relationship between the history of philosophy and contemporary philosophical - quiry. Many philosophers working today virtually ignore the history of their s- ject, apparently regarding it as an antiquarian pursuit with little relevance to their “cutting-edge” research. Conversely, there are historians of philosophy who seldom if ever concern themselves with the intricate technical debates that ll the journals devoted to modern analytic philosophy. Both sides are surely the poorer for this strange bifurcation. For philosophy, like all parts of our intellectual culture, did not come into existence out of nowhere, but was shaped and nurtured by a long tradition; in uncovering the roots of that tradition we begin see current philoso- ical problems in a broader context and thereby enrich our understanding of their signi cance. This is surely part of the justi cation for the practice, in almost every university, of including elements from the history of philosophy as a basic part of the undergraduate curriculum. But understanding is enriched by looking forwards as well as backwards, which is why a good historian of philosophy will not just be c- cerned with uncovering ancient ideas, but will be constantly alert to how those ideas pre gure and anticipate later developments.

Download or read book Determined - Women's Bible Study Participant Workbook written by Heather M. Dixon and published by Abingdon Press. This book was released on 2019-04-02 with total page 412 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Live intentionally and embrace abundant life! Imagine waking up every single day convinced that the twenty-four hours ahead of you are a precious gift to be used wisely. Now imagine that you know exactly how to spend them to be a force for God’s good. All too often we wander through life without appreciating the gift of every moment we’ve been given. The result? An unsatisfying life, missed opportunities to experience the joy of being in sync with God, and days marked with apathy instead of passion. Our time on earth is measured. We should want to make every moment count—not only because we aren’t guaranteed the next one, but also because this is exactly how our Savior spent His time here. How, then, do we walk out unwavering joy-filled faith every day, determined to let go of the things that keep us from experiencing abundant life and fulfilling the plans God has for us? The answers are found in following the footsteps of the One who lived fully, because He was determined that we might do the same. In this six-week study of Luke, we will follow the life and ministry of Jesus as we consider the choices He made on His way to the cross. We’ll intimately connect with a Savior who remained laser-focused on His mission to love the world. In return, we’ll receive a model for intentional living that we can replicate to ensure we are living each day to the fullest and making a difference for God’s kingdom. And together we’ll determine to embrace the abundant life we are promised in Jesus. The participant workbook includes five days of lessons for each week, combining study of Scripture with personal reflection, application, and prayer. It’s time to stop wandering and start living!
