Circumstances have since then led to these papers being offered to the public in the present form, and I can only hope that they may prove acceptable. A few of the chapters record the results of personal experience; the remainder are descriptive of incidents in the sporting career of friends and acquaintances, the main facts of which are I believe quite accurate, and the details in most instances strictly unembellished.
