Book excerpt: In the contemporary world, almost every heart is hurt. Some conceal their pains behind the veil of smiles and others show in their eyes. This happens as we are entangled in a web of superficial identities, borrowed beliefs and ceaseless distractions, which obstruct our joy, peace & freedom. The origin of these afflictions lies in our uncontrolled desires, unmet expectations, tumultuous emotions and fragile mindsets. This toxicity weighs heavily on our mental, psychological & emotional well-being and causing distress. To mask our shortcomings & vulnerabilities, we hastily assign blame to others for less favourable circumstances while readily claim credit for favourable outcomes. Inadvertently, this reflects our flawed social conditioning, unfounded fears etched in minds, deficient risk appetite & reluctance to accept realities as it is. Good news is there is hope. We can transcend these afflictions through a structured approach, taking effective measures & embracing preventive strategies. Just as we recover from physical ailments, we can heal from such emotional wounds, through a transformative journey. By healing our hurt, we can truly relish the beauty of life and claim what we deserve or are capable of. Once we do so, then we will transition from the state of infinite limitation to infinite liberation.

Book excerpt: Live Before You Leave: An Introduction to Happiness was written for those seeking happiness, peace, and bliss in their lives. Through small stories and through the author’s life experiences, this book represents a self-help guide on how to live a healthy and joyful life. The guide is based on scientific facts as well as the knowledge of life and nature. Although energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can be transformed from one form into another. Similarly, a negative life can be transformed into a positive one. Says author Taruna Morandmal Tanwani: “In writing this book, I am trying to spread knowledge in the world that could bring peace and happiness in someone’s life. But this can happen only because I have experienced peace, happiness, and joy in my life. I experience peace and happiness through yoga and meditation. This book helps the readers to realize that happiness is not outside but within ourselves, and we just need to take a step to look within! A wealth of happiness is within us!”

Download or read book Project 333 written by Courtney Carver and published by Penguin. This book was released on 2020-03-03 with total page 226 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Wear just 33 items for 3 months and get back all the JOY you were missing while you were worrying what to wear. In Project 333, minimalist expert and author of Soulful Simplicity Courtney Carver takes a new approach to living simply--starting with your wardrobe. Project 333 promises that not only can you survive with just 33 items in your closet for 3 months, but you'll thrive just like the thousands of woman who have taken on the challenge and never looked back. Let the de-cluttering begin! Ever ask yourself how many of the items in your closet you actually wear? In search of a way to pare down on her expensive shopping habit, consistent lack of satisfaction with her purchases, and ever-growing closet, Carver created Project 333. In this book, she guides readers through their closets item-by-item, sifting through all the emotional baggage associated with those oh-so strappy high-heel sandals that cost a fortune but destroy your feet every time you walk more than a few steps to that extensive collection of never-worn little black dresses, to locate the items that actually look and feel like you. As Carver reveals in this book, once we finally release ourselves from the cyclical nature of consumerism and focus less on our shoes and more on our self-care, we not only look great we feel great-- and we can see a clear path to make other important changes in our lives that reach far beyond our closets. With tips, solutions, and a closet-full of inspiration, this life-changing minimalist manual shows readers that we are so much more than what we wear, and that who we are and what we have is so much more than enough.

Book Synopsis On Not Being Someone Else by : Andrew H. Miller
Download or read book On Not Being Someone Else written by Andrew H. Miller and published by Harvard University Press. This book was released on 2020-06-09 with total page 233 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “To be someone—to be anyone—is about...not being someone else. Miller’s amused and inspired book is utterly compelling.” —Adam Phillips “A compendium of expressions of wonder over what might have been...Swept up in our real lives, we quickly forget about the unreal ones. Still, there will be moments when, for good or ill, we feel confronted by our unrealized possibilities.” —New Yorker We live one life, formed by paths taken and untaken. Choosing a job, getting married, deciding on a place to live or whether to have children—every decision precludes another. But what if you’d gone the other way? From Robert Frost to Sharon Olds, Virginia Woolf to Ian McEwan, Jane Hirshfield to Carl Dennis, storytellers of every stripe consider the roads not taken, the lives we haven’t led. What is it that compels us to identify with fictional and poetic voices tantalizing us with the shadows of what might have been? Not only poets and novelists, but psychologists and philosophers have much to say on this question. Miller finds wisdom in all of these, revealing the beauty, the allure, and the danger of sustaining or confronting our unled lives. “Miller is charming company, both humanly and intellectually. He is onto something: the theme of unled lives, and the fascinating idea that fiction intensifies the sense of provisionality that attends all lives. An extremely attractive book.” —James Wood “An expertly curated tour of regret and envy in literature...Miller’s insightful and moving book—both in his own discussion and in the tales he recounts—gently nudges us toward consolation.” —Wall Street Journal “I wish I had written this book...Examining art’s capacity to transfix, multiply, and compress, this book is itself a work of art.” —Times Higher Education

Download or read book Leave Worries Live Happily written by Baldev Bhatia and published by BookRix. This book was released on 2019-05-24 with total page 95 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: . Most of us do the fatal mistake of looking outwards for happiness rather than looking inwards. Be positive, be strong, be bold and be courageous you are sure to find the feeling of happiness within you. Even if we are having a bad day, think of some good things that may come our way, either later that day, tomorrow, next week, or next moment. When everything seems to be beyond our control, it's almost too easy for us to slip into the grasp of negativity and unhappiness. To avoid sadness we must strive to abolish this sort of thinking through the power of thinking positively and generate the feeling of happiness within. The art of sweet living is not a complicated kind of art difficult to learn rather a simple art of happy living feeling well, eating well, and thinking well. What we need to do is just to tune up our mind to enjoy every moment of life and let the sweet happiness follow us. This is something that needs to be looked into thoroughly. We need to focus on the positive aspects of lives, rather than on the negative setbacks and enjoy every moment of life happily and merrily. Enjoy your life with cheerful talks. Be happy and cheerful. We must remember that happy living is the reward of sweet and positive thinking.
