Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What does it mean to lead with vision? In the first book devoted entirely to vision as a key leadership principle, the authors delve deeply into the notion that a compelling vision that motivates and inspires is a true differentiator for organizations that want to hire and retain talent, be more competitive, and thrive in uncertain times. But a compelling vision on its own is not enough, which is why the authors, sought-after leadership development experts globally, provide readers with detailed analysis of the essential things leaders must do to effectively engage the workforce around that vision: embody courage, forge clarity, build connectedness, and shape culture. Leading with Vision draws on quantitative data from the authors' research of over 400 companies supplemented with real-world examples from thoughtful leaders who exemplify the core principles of leading with vision in established companies, including: Olukai, Bumble Bee, Coresystems, Jimbo's, Bunge, and more. The book also includes an actionable blueprint developed by the authors that leaders and their organizations can implement on day one of their journey.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Visionary Leadership By: Stephen Mason Can anyone become a Visionary Leader? This question, laid out at the onset of the book, is answered with a resounding “Yes!” throughout its chapters. Stephen R. Mason was inspired to shares his reflections on his long career as an executive in the healthcare industry. Simply put, Mason is motivated by the thought that sharing his journey and the insights he has learned along the way might be of service to others. That journey shows up as a series of refreshingly personal analogies and anecdotes organized around a set of guiding principles called The Success Formula. While leaving plenty of room for individual interpretation, The Success Formula offers time-tested and well-vetted recommendations for making the most ambitious vision a reality. Mason incorporates interesting examples from his own career in healthcare to illustrate how any organization—including those in fields not known for their swift adaptation and market repositioning—can learn to innovate and think beyond the status quo. Once you know that becoming a Visionary Leader is possible, the inevitable follow-up question is: “How?” The author answers this question in the section of the book that precedes The Success Formula: Prepare for the Journey. One of the primary ideas of the book is that visionary leadership comes from within, not from without. A Visionary Leader must be willing to wrestle with his or her thoughts, emotions, and deeply held beliefs to find the confidence to stand up in front of an entire organization and say, “Follow me.” Visionary Leadership: Learning to Lead from the Inside Out explains these concepts in a way that is straightforward in both comprehension and application, without shying away from bigger themes of meaning, purpose, and spirituality. Readers will find this book inspirational and instructional, a roadmap for exploring the path of their own careers.

Many entrepreneurs believe that to grow their businesses, they must work harder and harder. They overlook the importance of the team, the financials, and a solid plan that must be executed and adjusted on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. They don’t understand the concept of working “on the business” because they are too often working – harder and harder – “in the business”, creating another job for themselves instead of rising to leadership and orchestrating a well-run business. Vision to Reality provides a simple set of steps to help entrepreneurs realize their vision for their business and “clear the fog” for everyone involved to get on board with executing the vision. The goal of Vision to Reality is to help entrepreneurs clear the fog for themselves and their business, giving them confidence that they can tackle problems head-on despite the problems appearing insurmountable. It is unique and appealing because it introduces a new opportunity, using simple but effective foundational principles and tools often overlooked by entrepreneurs in their quest for business success.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

The Future of Africa Energy and Doing Deals. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides managers and leaders with a conceptual framework for visionary leadership to help them rediscover their vision in a more meaningful way with long-lasting results. It guides managers and leaders through four overlapping phases of the vision development and realization cycle at different levels and during various life stages. It teaches leaders to embrace employees as visionary partners in the journey to build a better organization. The founder-CEO’s journey to lead a high-growth company begins with the ability to see their role within the company—and the company itself—through new lenses. While it requires a CEO to evolve and grow with their company as their plans for the company expand, the visionary should not solely set their sights on new horizons. Their ability to see within their company should become more granular as well. Featuring real-world case examples and chapter summaries with key takeaways, this book allows the business leader to walk themselves through the process of visioning with their team from start to finish. It also allows consultants and coaches to see the full lifecycle of a vision and support the visionary at any level of an organization.
