Download or read book Les Propheties written by Nostradamus and published by Good Press. This book was released on 2021-04-10 with total page 148 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Prophecies of Nostradamus has remained one of the most read and spoken of the book throughout the history. It was first published in 1555 and became quite popular already during the life of Nostradamus as some of his prophesies came true. Mostly, Nostradamus's predictions were about general types of events, like natural disasters and conflict-related events that tend to occur regularly as time goes on. No wonder people believe that his prophecies have predicted actual events through centuries. From the death of Henry II, the French Revolution, the rise of Napoleon, the rise of Adolf Hitler, to the 9/11 attacks – all these events are believed to be foreseen by Nostradamus.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Nostradamus. His name has echoed across four centuries forever linked to prophecy. It is believed this medieval French physician wrote more than six thousand prophetic verses in his lifetime, with the most compelling ones published in his 1555 book, Les Propheties des Nostradamus, or The Prophecies of Nostradamus. Its 942 verses, or quatrains, speak of world wars and famine, of fires and floods, of tyrants and calamities that he foresaw in his visions-vivid, violent images brought forth by divination; prophetic visions that would surface in the solitude of his study during the dead of night. Today, more than 450 years after his death, one lingering question continues to draw both skeptic and believer to his legendary work in the face of world events: Was he right? This Bayley Street Press edition is a translated republication of Les Propheties. It includes two fragmentary centuries commonly linked to the original work and 141 Presages written by Nostradamus and published as almanacs between 1555 and 1567.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Michel de Nostredame (14 December or 21 December 1503 - 2 July 1566), usually Latinised to Nostradamus, was a French apothecary and reputed seer who published collections of prophecies that have since become famous worldwide. He is best known for his book Les Propheties ("The Prophecies"), the first edition of which appeared in 1555. Since the publication of this book, which has rarely been out of print since his death, Nostradamus has attracted a following that, along with the popular press, credits him with predicting many major world events. The prophecies have in some cases been assimilated to the results of applying the alleged Bible code, as well as to other purported prophetic works. Most academic sources maintain that the associations made between world events and Nostradamus's quatrains are largely the result of misinterpretations or mistranslations (sometimes deliberate) or else are so tenuous as to render them useless as evidence of any genuine predictive power. Moreover, none of the sources listed offers any evidence that anyone has ever interpreted any of Nostradamus's quatrains specifically enough to allow a clear identification of any event in advance.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Who was Nostradamus, and what faith should we place in his predictions? This book gives objective answers. It reveals that Michel de Nostredame, a 16th-century French doctor, was more Renaissance man than arcane magician - and that his prognostications can be compellingly astute. In this edition all of the cryptic short verses of Nostradamus's Centuries appear in the original French, with new translations. Uncanny prophecies such as those of the French Revolution and the rise of Hitler are examined in detail. Here too are interpretations of the many verses believed to augur future events. Editor Ned Halley works in fields of journalism as diverse as medicine, wine and business. He takes a Plain English approach to 'a subject far too often wreathed in language that seems calculated to obscure, rather than to demonstrate, the truth'.
