En ellos, incluye ensayos que tratan una enorme variedad de asuntos, desde la crítica literaria y de arte o el comentario político, a la expresión dealgunos de los conceptos fundamentales de su filosofía, la descripción de un paisaje o la meditación sobre el amor.
