Book Synopsis Laminar and Turbulent Boundary Layers in a Plane of Symmetry by : J. H. Baek
Download or read book Laminar and Turbulent Boundary Layers in a Plane of Symmetry written by J. H. Baek and published by . This book was released on 1984 with total page 146 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Detailed mean-flow and turbulence measurements have been made in the boundary layer in the plane of symmetry of a body of revolution at incidence. These data and the somewhat limited information available from previous experiments are utilized, together with extensive plane-of-symmetry boundary-layer calculations in laminar and turbulent flows, to determine the most important effects of mean-flow convergence and divergence. Book Synopsis Hypersonic Lifting Body Windward Surface Flow-field Analysis for High Angles of Incidence by : John C. Adams (Jr.)
Download or read book Hypersonic Lifting Body Windward Surface Flow-field Analysis for High Angles of Incidence written by John C. Adams (Jr.) and published by . This book was released on 1973 with total page 240 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Formulation and application of a windward surface flow-field (inviscid and viscous) analysis is presented for general lifting body configurations at high angles of incidence under hypersonic perfect gas conditions. The technique applies a strip theory concept, leading to an infinite extent yawed body treatment applied in the windward surface crossflow plane for both the inviscid and viscous (boundary layer) flow fields. The boundary-layer analysis is based on the governing equations for yawed blunt body boundary layers.

Book Synopsis Laminar-Turbulent Transition by : Victor V. Kozlov
Download or read book Laminar-Turbulent Transition written by Victor V. Kozlov and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 770 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: At the suggestion of the USSR National Committee of Theo retical and Applied Mechanios the International Union of Theo retical and Applied Meohanics made a deoision to organize the Second IUTAM Symposium on Laminar-Turbulent Transition in No vosibirsk. Professor Yanenko was entrusted to be the chairman of the scientific committee. It was proposed that about 100 scientists would participate in the Symposium and that 60 lectures and invited lectures would be delivered; as for the theme of the Symposium, it was devoted to experimental and theoretical stu dies of laminar-turbulent transition in fluids and gases, i.e. the physical problems of transition and mathematical modeling in shear flows. It was planned to lay a special emphasis on fundamental mechanisms of the transition process. The scienti fio committee approved of the scope of the Symposium having considered the changes in the directions of the stUdies which took place since the First Symposium. For example, there was singled out the problem of transformation of external distur bances into eigenoscillations of shear flows, i.e. the recep tivity problem which was only slightly touched upon at the First Symposium. A new section appeared devoted to the inter relation of the flow separation phenomenon and its stability. It was planned to focus the attention on the secondary instability at transition to turbulence at the non-linear stage of the flow breakdown as well as on the loss of stability and the disturbances development in 3-D flows.

Book Synopsis On the Hypersonic Flow Past Blunted, Flat Delta Wings by : Arnold Polak
Download or read book On the Hypersonic Flow Past Blunted, Flat Delta Wings written by Arnold Polak and published by . This book was released on 1970 with total page 48 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The flow of a perfect gas over the slab portion of a blunted delta wing flying at hypersonic speeds is studied. A set of approximate equations is derived and a solution - for an inviscid flow - is obtained. Using this solution as a representation for the inviscid flow problem, a formulation to the laminar boundary-layer equations is presented; one which is applicable to the flow field's azimuthal planes where the crossflow gradients are not too large. Numerical solutions to these boundary-layer equations have been obtained; however, these are restricted to the azimuthal planes and near to the leading edges. The results indicate the presence of a dividing surface streamline since a numerical solution could not be obtained near the centerplane of the wing, where the crossflow velocity is large. (Author).
