Book Synopsis Réfléchir sur notre passé pour aborder notre avenir by : Serge Joyal
Download or read book Réfléchir sur notre passé pour aborder notre avenir written by Serge Joyal and published by McGill-Queen's Press - MQUP. This book was released on 2019-03-04 with total page 609 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Dynamiques religieuses des autochtones des Amériques written by Marie-Pierre Bousquet and published by KARTHALA Editions. This book was released on 2012 with total page 450 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The aim of this project is to close the gaps in basic knowledge about the nonprofit or civil society sector, and to shed light on the reasons for the significant disparities that exist in the size, composition, financing, and role of the sector in various countries and regions. [...] The work in Canada was guided by the conceptual and methodological approaches developed in this project.1 Canada's participation in the Johns Hopkins Comparative Nonprofit Sector Project augments three other major initiatives already underway in Canada to expand our understanding of the nonprofit and voluntary sector: the National Survey of Nonprofit and Voluntary Organizations (NSNVO),2 the 2000 [...] The result is the first empirical overview of the Canadian nonprofit and voluntary sector and the first systematic comparison of the Canadian nonprofit and voluntary sector with similar sectors elsewhere in the world. [...] Page 8 Executive Summary Because of its long tradition of relying on nonprofit and voluntary organizations to address the needs and interests of its population, Canada has one of the largest and most vibrant nonprofit and voluntary sectors in the world. [...] Page 4 Definitions and Approach: An Overview The legal position of nonprofit and voluntary organizations in Canada is complicated by the country's federal structure and by the presence of two distinct legal systems-a common law system at the federal level and in most of the provinces, and a civil law system in Quebec, which was settled by the French and remains predominantly French both culturally.

Download or read book Ngā Tai Matatū written by Mason Durie and published by Oxford University Press, USA. This book was released on 2005 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Nga Tai Matatu: Tides of Maori Endurance describes and analyses the position of the Maori people and Maori interests at the start of the third millennium. It also recognises the journeys from the past and makes projections into the future. The book builds on the highly successful Te Mana te Kawanatanga: The Politics of Maori Self Determination but also introduces new issues and canvasses recent developments that have influenced Maori lives and Maori resources. Development is an ongoing process that has distant beginnings and no real ending. That sense of eternity is reflected in the Maori title; like the changing nature of the tide, Maori fortunes also change. The book provides a comprehensive analysis of research relating specifically to Maori over many fields. It presents a carefully structured and argued overview of the background, history, experience, and aspirations of the indigenous people of New Zealand, and develops a wide-ranging framework within which Maori development can be considered. The author draws on published evidence and uses analytical models that are consistent with Maori aspirations and priorities. The book contributes towards better understanding of the Maori position and considers the challenges that lie ahead. Subjects on which there is little information available elsewhere are discussed, such as: demographics genetic modification claims to Maori resources Maori political engagement
