This book was released on 2014-03-05 with total page 194 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Storia dell'educazione written by Saverio Santamaita and published by Bruno Mondadori. This book was released on 2014-01-10 with total page 176 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

This book was released on 2021-09-18 with total page 353 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The current health situation has been described as chaotic and devastating. Humanity’s trust in the future and in its human capacity to overcome a disaster of such magnitude is even starting to wither away. If science still lacks a response to the pandemic, can the humanities offer something to cope with this situation? The world can adopt a historical perspective and realize that this is not the first time a global pandemic has struck. Issues including illness, suffering, endurance, resilience, human survival, etc. have been dealt with by literature, philosophy, psychology, and sociology throughout the ages and should be explored once again in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Handbook of Research on Historical Pandemic Analysis and the Social Implications of COVID-19 explores the issue of disease from a variety of philosophical, legal, historical, and social perspectives to offer both comprehension and consolation to the human psyche. This group of scholars within the fields of education, psychology, linguistics, history, and philosophy provides a comprehensive view of the humanities as it relates to the pandemic within the frame of human reaction to pain and calamity. This book also looks at the impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on society in a multidisciplinary capacity that examines its effects in education, government, business, and more. Covering topics such as public health legislation, sociology, impacts on women, and population genetics, this book is essential for sociologists, psychologists, communications experts, historians, researchers, students, and academicians.

Book Synopsis Educational Research and Schooling in Rural Europe by : Cath Gristy
Download or read book Educational Research and Schooling in Rural Europe written by Cath Gristy and published by IAP. This book was released on 2020-07-01 with total page 407 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides authentic accounts of the effects of the revolutionary political reform experienced in the past half century on education in Europe’s considerable rural hinterland. These reforms include the liberation of the Baltic and Eastern European states from Soviet communist domination, the ‘eurozone’ economic crises, and the current and future migration of people fleeing war and poverty from the Middle East and Africa. Overshadowing these events are so-called global forces which champion economies of scale and pressurize academic performance as keys to economic success. Trapped in this distal whirlwind of change are 1000s of small and/or rural elementary schools and the life chances of more 1000s of young children. The research presented here unveils the unseen and under-reported consequences of top-down, urban-oriented educational policies on children’s and communities’ experience of place and space. Exposure of these conditions in rural Europe is long overdue, but obscured for decades by political extremes of left and right. Yet, the lived reality of peremptory and swathing school closure programmes, and poverty inflicted on rural populations in parts of Eastern Europe is relatively unreported in the western educational literature – a situation exacerbated by the virtual invisibility of rural educational research generally. The chapters in this book reveal the insights of social science scholars from 11 European countries including those from low GDP, formerly soviet bloc countries, recently enabled to present their research at western European conferences such as the European Educational Research Association. Their research will inform and alert education academics, researchers and professionals to these rural European educational contexts. The research methodologies reported are diverse and innovative. The national context chapters are complemented by overview chapters which survey and synthesise (i) definitions and conceptualisations of rural, (ii) pan-European appraisal of educational, structural and geospatial statistics on small and rural schools, and (iii) identify key messages for better understanding of the rural situation in European research, policy and practice. Crucially, despite the gloom, the authors report positive strategies for rural school survival at governmental and/or school and community levels, that include community involvement, rural educational tourism, and deliberative inter-community school network planning.

Download or read book Parenting written by Anna Marina Mariani and published by Ipoc Press. This book was released on 2008 with total page 191 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book provides a necessary commitment for a stronger preventive attitude to parenting: in other words, parents could and should educate themselves for parenthood in order to be able to provide their children those guiding maps for personal growth. Attributing so much importance to a self formation in motherhood and fatherhood, does not reduce the family to a secondary social role in order to avoid pathological issues and intergenerational clashes, rather it wants to urge in committing for their children's growth-formation without any neurotic search for perfection and educational abstentions. Will we be able to support those adults willing to be good parents but not parents acting well? The book tries to offer theoretical views choosing to privilege the informality that the family code requires in order that those parents in "normal" situations, and not only those who have problems or difficulties, would find guiding lines to appropriately face common and general issues; this not according to the strict canons of formal education, but to an education among adults that does not enclose the family in material, and always private and individual experiences, to the detriment of spiritual and more general dimensions.
