Por ello hemos estructurado la materia en dos grandes bloques: el proceso de la constitución histórica del ensayo como clase de textos, por un lado, y los principios de su construcción textual (en los diferentes niveles: semántico, sintáctico y pragmático) puede constituirse el ensayo como clase de textos autónoma y distinguirse de otras clases de textos más o menos próximas con las que guarda vínculos de tipo genérico.
