Selon Green et Kreuter, un définition claire des comportements à changer et un diagnostic de ces derniers constituent une étape nécessaire pour la planification sociosanitaire (étape 3 du modèle). De plus, il faut agir sur les facteurs qui déterminent un comportement pour arriver à le changer (étape 4 du modèle). Cette étude présente les résultats des diagnostics prévus par les étapes 3 et 4 du modèle théoretique retenu. Il vise donc à connaitre la prévalence de l'allaitement maternel dans la région et à cerner les facteurs qui l'influencent. Ces diagnostics permettront de réviser les objectifs du programme à partir des données reflétant davantage la situation montérégienne.
