En esta parte se muestra a través de los contenidos desarrollados en sus dos temas la evolución de las familias desde un planteamiento de la diversidad; las teorías que consideramos más representativas sobre cómo abordar el estudio de las familias; las diferentes definiciones y tipologías familiares; los ciclos vitales de la vida de las familias; los subsistemas familiares; el enfoque de parentalidad positiva; la diversidad familiar en la escuela; la conceptualización de la orientación familiar y sus funciones; las perspectivas teóricas de la intervención en orientación familiar; los principios de la orientación familiar; la orientación familiar en el ámbito escolar; y, por último, los modelos de intervención en Orientación Familiar. En la segunda parte se aborda los fundamentos básicos de la Acción Tutorial. Así como la comunicación y colaboración familias-escuela-comunidad. Para ello se presenta a través de los contenidos desarrollados en sus dos temas el recorrido histórico-normativo de la tutoría; la conceptualización de la acción tutorial, definiendo sus principios, características, objetivos y funciones, las competencias profesionales y personales del tutor; los principios básicos del Plan de Acción Tutorial; el marco normativo de la colaboración de las familias y el entorno en la escuela; la participación educativa; la comunicación colaborativa: la implicación parental para la mejora de la calidad educativa; el partenariado; y por último, los principales obstáculos y buenas prácticas para la mejora de la relación del centro educativo con la familia y la comunidad. La tercera parte recoge los aspectos más relevantes de la Evaluación e Intervención en Orientación Familiar y Acción Tutorial. En esta parte se aborda a través de los contenidos desarrollados en sus dos temas la intervención psicopedagógica desde dos modelos concretos de intervención, el modelo sistémico y el modelo cognitivo conductual; los programas, técnicas, instrumentos y recursos que facilitan a las/os profesionales el trabajo con las familias y la escuela. Se han seleccionado las técnicas y recursos entre los más representativos que han sido sometidos a investigación, y que han demostrado ser útiles para la intervención en orientación familiar, tanto en el contexto del hogar como en el de la escuela. El conjunto de técnicas y recursos se organiza en torno a tres ejes de referencia, por un lado, las técnicas desarrolladas a partir del modelo sistémico, por otro, las de carácter conductual, basadas en la teoría del aprendizaje social, y por último, las desarrolladas a partir de la psicología cognitiva. Por último, y en el marco de la intervención cognitiva conductual se presenta, aunque no se trata de una técnica, la práctica de Mindfulness para las etapas de infantil y primaria, así como la entrevista, instrumento básico en la orientación familiar y la acción tutorial como herramienta de diagnóstico y evaluación, y como estrategia de intervención dirigida a la prevención y a la resolución de problemas. En resumen, en este manual se persigue ofrecer una serie de planteamientos y orientaciones que sirvan de base al profesional para poder desarrollar su intervención educativa y psicopedagógica para programar actuaciones de orientación y acción tutorial con las que dar respuesta a las necesidades de los menores y familias en el contexto educativo en el que se desarrollan, atendiendo siempre a sus características de diversidad.
