Ce qui est en cause ici, ce sont les clauses du contrat social africain. Face a cette situation preoccupante, comment instaurer une culture universelle de la paix pour mettre fin a la culture de la violence qui prospere sur le continent ? Pour Rousseau, l'edifice de la paix sociale repose sur un veritable contrat social. Selon les clauses du contrat social rousseauiste, les membres de la societe sont tous egaux et libres; leurs droits et devoirs sont fondes, garantis et proteges par toute la collectivite. A partir de l'eclairage de la philosophie de Rousseau, il est possible d'instaurer la culture de la paix en Afrique au moyen d'un nouveau contrat social fonde sur le Droit.
