Ces dispositions figurent principalement dans la loi sur la transplantation, la LRH, le CPP, la loi sur les profils d'ADN, la LAGH ainsi qu'au sein des lois cantonales en matière de santé publique et funéraire. Enfin, l'auteur fait des propositions de lege ferenda susceptibles de clarifier le statut juridique du cadavre. Cet ouvrage apporte des réponses aux professionnels du droit, mais également du domaine médical ou funéraire qui se trouvent confrontés à des questions juridiques relatives au sort d'un cadavre humain.

Mais l'auteur met en garde le lecteur de ne pas se laisser abuser par les artifices du langage. Le mot "personne" en droit répond à une définition précise, qu'on ne peut remettre en cause. Une législation qui qualifierait le corps de personne pour pouvoir mieux le traiter en objet, serait sans doute pire que le mal.
