Bense) und die Untersuchung zur pädagogischen Kommunikation (H. Eckert) richten sich an der allen Beiträgen zugrundeliegenden Konzeption aus. Friedrich-Wilhelm Wolter (1923-1990), dem dieser Band gewidmet ist, studierte in den 50er Jahren Romanistik in Halle. Dann arbeitete er dort zeit seines Lebens als akedemischer Sprachlehrer; er sorgte für einen intensiven, kommunikativ orientierten Sprachunterricht. Er war Mitbegründer und eine der gestaltenden Kräfte des heutigen Forschungskreises Kommunikativ-funktionale Sprachbetrachtung in Halle. Sein großes Projekt einer französischen Grammatik aus kommunikativ-funktionaler Sicht mußte unerfüllt bleiben.
