Häufig sind es Krisen in der Partnerschaft, in der Familie, auf der Arbeit etc., die einem den Schlaf rauben und das alltägliche Leben belasten. In solchen Situationen kann eine professionelle Beratung hilfreich sein. Dann gilt es zunächst zu klären, welche Form der Beratung und welcher Beratungsansatz in Frage kommen. Aufgrund der raschen gesellschaftlichen Veränderungen, entstanden immer mehr Organisationen, die sich auf spezifische Beratungsbedarfe fokussieren. Beratende Organisationen bzw. beratende Personen arbeiten in der Regel nach einem bestimmten Beratungsansatz. Die Wahl eines geeigneten Beratungsansatzes kann für Ratsuchende auf den ersten Blick überfordernd wirken. Der klientenzentrierte (synonym personenzentriert) sowie der systemische Beratungsansatz sind zwei davon. Dennoch stellt die systemische Beratung ein völlig anderes Konzept der Beratung dar als die klientenzentrierte Beratung. Es kommt die Frage auf, inwiefern sich die Methoden der systemischen Beratung und der klientenzentrierten Beratung in der Praxis unterscheiden. Um diese Frage beantworten zu können, wird zunächst der Begriff „Beratung“ beleuchtet. Was verbirgt sich hinter dem Begriff und was gehört zu einer Beratung dazu? Anschließend wird es eine kurze Einführung in die klientenzentrierte sowie in die systemische Beratungstheorie geben, in der der geschichtliche und theoretische Hintergrund beider Ansätze betrachtet wird. Im Hauptteil geht es dann um die Ausarbeitung der Methoden bzw. Merkmale im klientenzentrierten und systemischen Beratungsprozess. Auf dieser Grundlage werden Unterschiede und Gemeinsamkeiten zwischen den Ansätzen verdeutlicht. Zum Abschluss werden in einem Fazit die wichtigsten Aspekte zusammenfassend dargelegt.

In dieser Hausarbeit wird bei beiden Beratungsmodellen nur von der Beratung und nicht von der Therapie ausgegangen, weil später im Arbeitsleben für die Studierenden der Sozialen Arbeit überwiegend die Beratung in Frage kommt.

Die beiden Ansätze werden in der Praxis als sehr unterschiedlich erlebt. Diese Arbeit stellte eine vergleichende Untersuchung an und beschäftigte sich mit den Gemeinsamkeiten und Unterschiede der Ansätze. Die vorliegende Bachelorarbeit mit dem Titel "Der Systemisch-Personzentrierte Beratungsansatz" beschäftigt sich mit dem Systemischen und dem Personzentrierten Beratungsansatz. Doch schließen sich diese beiden Ansätze nicht gegenseitig aus? Um das herauszufinden, untersucht diese Arbeit, ob diese beiden Ansätze miteinander vereinbar sind oder sich widersprechen. Der Systemische und Personzentrierte Beratungsansatz wirken für viele Beratende und Sozialarbeitende ohne tiefere Befassung mit dem Thema konträr. Wenn man sich für eine Laufbahn als Beratender entscheidet, kann man u.a. zwischen diesen beiden großen Strömungen entscheiden. Im Laufe des Studiums stellte der Autor fest, dass sich beide Ansätze in einem Wettbewerbsverhältnis begegnen. Die personzentriert Beratenden sind der Meinung, dass die Systemiker nur mit Techniken arbeiten und der Mensch und seine Gefühle eine untergeordnete Rolle spielen. Die Systemiker halten den Personzentrierten Ansatz für esoterisch und nicht zielstrebig genug. Diese beiden Gegenpole nahm der Autor im Laufe seines Studiums wahr. Bei intensiverer Auseinandersetzung mit beiden Ansätzen wurden die Unterschiede als nicht so gravierend empfunden, im Gegenteil. Der Autor entwickelte langsam die Haltung, dass eine Kombination aus beiden Beratungsansätzen perfekt sein könnte. Durch die tägliche Arbeit mit vielen verschiedenen Menschen wurde eine eigene Art zu beraten entwickelt. So entstand eine Kombination aus der Personzentrierten und Systemischen Beratung. Der Autor vertritt die Meinung, dass in der Beratung kein Ansatz existiert, dem ein universaler Anspruch zustünde. Jeder Mensch muss mit seinen einzigartigen Problemen und Bedürfnissen individuell betrachtet und beraten werden. Eine einseitige Ausbildung würde demzufolge bedeuten, dass man nur jene Klienten beraten kann, bei denen der spezifische Ansatz angemessen ist. Indem man beide Ansätze miteinander kombiniert, könnte ein flexibler und individueller Beratungsansatz entstehen. So könnte adäquat auf jeden einzelnen Menschen mit seinen Eigenheiten, Problemen und Bedürfnissen reagiert werden.

In the wake of materialism and social change, man had been described in the early years of our century as the “dead end” of nature. Freud had redefined culture as illness—a result of drive sublimation; Klages had called the spirit (and he was surely speaking of the hypertrophied intellect) the “adversary of the soul,” propounding a return to a life like that of the Pelasgi, the aboriginal inhabitants of Greece; and Spengler had declared the “Demise of the West” during the years following World War I. The consequences of such pessimism continued to proliferate long after its foundations had been superseded. It was with these foundations—the natural sciences—that Gebser began. As early as Planck it was known that matter was not at all what materialists had believed it to be, and since 1943 Gebser has repeatedly emphasized that the so-called crisis of Western culture was in fact an essential restructuration.… Gebser has noted two results that are of particular significance: first, the abandonment of materialistic determinism, of a one-sided mechanistic-causal mode of thought; and second, a manifest “urgency of attempts to discover a universal way of observing things, and to overcome the inner division of contemporary man who, as a result of his one-sided rational orientation, thinks only in dualisms.” Against this background of recent discoveries and conclusions in the natural sciences Gebser discerned the outlines of a potential human universality. He also sensed the necessity to go beyond the confines of this first treatise so as to include the humanities (such as political economics and sociology) as well as the arts in a discussion along similar lines.
