In dieser Arbeit wurde anhand verfügbarer Literatur versucht, die Ereignisse und Differenzen in den Ansichten zu sammeln, die zwischen den Jahren 30 und 70 nach Christus zu der Trennung von Judentum und Christentum geführt haben. Wann sich Judentum und Christentum endgültig auftrennten, kann nicht genau festgestellt werden. „Trennungsprozesse“ (Wander 1994, S. 3) wie Wander sie nennt, sind bereits früher und immer wieder zu beobachten. (vgl.Wander 1994, S. 2 und 3) Nach dem jüdischen Krieg, der um 70 nach Christus endet, verliert sich auch die Spur der Urgemeinde in Jerusalem und damit endet auch für Schneemelcher die Chronologie der urchristlichen Gemeinschaft.
