Book excerpt: I explain the untold misery and chronic disease produced by dentistry and how to keep your precious teeth away from greedy, incompetent dentists. Since teeth seldom hurt, you cannot depend on them to warn you if they are mistreated. I am a 70-year-old retired physician. I passed multiple board certification exams and operated surgical centers. I authored four books, won two writing awards, and am an Amazon bestseller. But I knew nothing about dentists until mid-2023 when I discovered they had ruined my health. Read this story to make sure it does not happen to you. I tell you what the dentists will not-that their work causes or contributes to an untold number of medical disasters. In Chapter 1, I tell the love story of how I saved my wife's life from her dentist. "Tooth doctors" pull normal wisdom teeth. They poison us with fluoride. They place toxic titanium implants. They put mercury, the most dangerous metal, into mouths. This should all be banned. The only dental material that should ever be used is biologically inert ceramic. Root canals are the dentists' worst crime. This process kills teeth, and the dentists leave their embalmed corpses inside you to rot. These spread mouth bacteria to your heart, brain, and other organs. If you read this book, you will make the right decisions to preserve your health. RobertYoho.Substack.com

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Implant dentistry has come a long way since Dr. Branemark introduced the osseointegration concept with endosseous implants. The use of dental implants has increased exponentially in the last three decades. As implant treatment became more predictable, the benefits of therapy became evident. The demand for dental implants has fueled a rapid expansion of the market. Presently, general dentists and a variety of specialists offer implants as a solution to partial and complete edentulism. Implant dentistry continues to evolve and expand with the development of new surgical and prosthodontic techniques. The aim of Implant Dentistry - A Rapidly Evolving Practice, is to provide a comtemporary clinic resource for dentists who want to replace missing teeth with dental implants. It is a text that relates one chapter to every other chapter and integrates common threads among science, clinical experience and future concepts. This book consists of 23 chapters divided into five sections. We believe that, Implant Dentistry: A Rapidly Evolving Practice, will be a valuable source for dental students, post-graduate residents, general dentists and specialists who want to know more about dental implants.

Book excerpt: This book explores, in a comprehensive and systematic manner, Surgical Research methodologies to the design and development of investigational studies in the field of implant-based oral rehabilitation. Such studies are linked in a chain binding in vitro, in vivo, ex vivo, and digital evaluations. An ambitious objective consists in exposing how investigators can generate and deliver knowledge by capturing synergy coming from preclinical and clinical trials. Accordingly, throughout the book, translational aspects are closely scrutinized. The opening chapters consider materials, methods and procedures for preclinical and clinical studies in which approaches and models are extensively described. The focus then moves to the process by which application of histology, biomechanics, biomarkers, cellular/molecular biology, and imaging technologies lead to new results and consequently novel treatment concepts in implant dentistry, implant borne prosthetic rehabilitations and the replacement or regeneration of tissues. Finally, the exciting opportunities afforded by the digital world are addressed. This book shall be a valuable resource and time-saving tool for a wide audience of researchers, students, practitioners, and academics.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This set of varied and stimulating papers, by an international group of younger as well as senior scholars, examines the manner in which peoplehood was understood by the Jewish communities of the Second Temple period and by the religious traditions that emerged from those communities and later flourished in Christianity and Rabbinic Judaism. The Hebrew and Greek terms for "people" and "nation" and the name "Israel" are closely analyzed, especially in forays into wisdom literature, Jewish apologetic and the Dead Sea Scrolls, and their uses are related to geographical, political and theological developments, as well as statehood, authority and rulership in the Persian world, Hasmonean times and Ptolemaic Egypt. Especially interesting are the carefully argued and documented suggestions about how Jewish peoplehood expressed itself with regard to charitable behavior, pagan deities, and marital regulations. Those interested in the history of cultural and theological tensions will be intrigued by the studies centered on how the opponents of Jews behaved towards "the people of God", how Hellenistic Jewish culture located the Jews on the Roman rather than on the Greek side, and how early Christian discourse saw the mission among the peoples and interpreted earlier sources accordingly. The idea of the Jewish "way of life" is seen to have influenced the writer of the longer Greek version of Esther and works of fiction are shown to have had important historical data within them. Modern social theory also has its say here in a careful consideration of Cognitive theory of ethnicity and the dynamic of ethnic boundary-making.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Coatings based on hydroxyapatite and calcium phosphates have a significant relevance in several research fields, such as biomaterials, cultural heritage, and water treatment, due to their characteristic properties. Hydroxyapatite can easily accommodate foreign ions, which can either be incorporated into the lattice, thanks to its specific lattice characteristics, or be adsorbed onto its surface. All these substitutions significantly alter the morphology, lattice parameters, and crystallinity of hydroxyapatite so they influence its main properties. These ion substitutions can be sought or can derive from substrate contaminations, which is an important aspect to be evaluated. Finally, this capability can be used to obtain hydroxyapatites with specific properties, such as antibacterial characteristics, among others. For these reasons, the aim of this Special Issue is to document current advances in the field of ion-substituted hydroxyapatites and highlight possible future perspectives regarding their use. Contributions in the form of original articles and review articles are presented, covering different areas of application.

This is difficult to write a description for, being that it is 3 novels in one volume...Judas is a cast-off of society, sent to explore the dark reaches of space. He's sent in an experimental vehicle that drops into another layer of space with unknown properties. When he gets too curious, his life and everyone around him begin to change forever. He ends up at the center of galactic war, interplanetary politics, interspecies breeding, and just a whole lot of messes. He's a survivor though, and just wants to be left alone with a few of his favorite females. Is that so much to ask?
