Book excerpt: You don't know bad until you know JB. And you won't begin to understand JB until you consider the genre. He was and they are anomalies and anachronisms: warped types out of dark times. JB and guys like him are ghoulish in their perversion. They're flagrant in their violence, cabalistic in their psychopathic nature, and, dangerous in their psychological indifference. OK, it's fiction, but there's a lot of truth to it. So, it's the truth; it's just not the whole truth. So, is this a tale or a study? Is it opinion or research? And, will any of those questions matter when considering the elements and essence of the issues? Maybe . . . We may know something about what contributes to virulent antisocial behavior but we don't know enough about it to forestall it. Maybe we will. Maybe not. But what do we do about it in the meantime? That's the burning question. Because they're perverse, we might justly call them miscreants or brutes or degenerates. Those terms are almost euphemistic, though, when applied to the diabolic guys referred to here. They're not just barbaric; they're deadly. So they're not just real bad. The designation for these guys is one we reserve for the worst kind of criminal there is a somebody not simply bad/but sinister. These are guys who commit uncommonly vile acts, some too gross to describe. And sadistic is too good a word to characterize the worst of their crimes, iniquitous too mild, obscene too vague. That's your bte noire: vulgar, vicious, villainous and virulent in the end, to the end an end noxious/toxic/lethal. You can't feel sorry for this guy or his genre. But they like it when you do. Your mercy on top of their madness makes their day. They glory in the novelty and incomprehensibility of it. Because they see the beautiful irony in it After your review of this abstract: Maybe you'll think I've been too harsh. Maybe you'll think I've been too blunt. Maybe you'll think I've been too vindictive. Maybe you'll think I've got issues. Maybe this, maybe that. And, maybe you'll just be thinking about reading this harrying treatise. If so . . . Get ready for the ride. It'll be bumpy. So hang on

Book excerpt: I started this book a two months earlier and honestly I had no idea about the of the book as well as the title. A random girl's fiction story has been converted into paper format that helps in visualising the troubles and traumas being faced by individuals. Collecting true incidents and happenings around collabrated with my mind to come with this book. I started writing this book while doing my under graduation and finally it's here I'ts pretty small but involves millions of visualising efforts and I hope this reaches the maximum

He liked wood crafting for his profitable business, and he liked his peace. But when he was forced to perform his diplomatic duties, he did it and longed for the evening to end. Except this time his uncle was with him and they expected him to fulfill another part of his lineage, marry someone they deemed suitable. So, when he met the military attaché to the White House. He was intrigued and definitely smitten by the smart crisp Sergeant Zeva Troy. A plan formed in his mind, Jasper knew if this duke were to take a wife, it would be her. He had five days in Washington D. C to convince her to marry and to go home with him. But his smooth accent, anything he owned. nor his title, definitely did not impress Zeva. Yet after a few steamy kisses and his offer. Zeva accepted and a new adventure began for both of them. Now they had to worry about his family who had no problem playing dirty. Three Times A Lady The horrors Lord Haile Buchanan witnessed while serving in the British Army left scars branded into his soul. Survival dictates relegating those harrowing memories to the past. These days, he lives a quiet life running his Northumberland pub with few people knowing his title or his past. It’s more than enough excitement to keep him occupied and out of trouble—until he glimpses the stunning beauty sobbing beneath the awning of Hope Center. Common sense demands she’s not his burden to bear. Honor and decency refuses to let him walk away. He gave her a job and a place to stay, The one drawback? Being around her is stirring emotions he never expected to feel. Their chemistry is explosive and getting harder and harder to deny—for both of them. Just as the walls around their hearts begin to crumble, Mari’s past and a dangerous enemy threaten to destroy everything. Protecting her is Haile’s only mission—even if it means summoning his own past demons. The Bride of Mackenzie Black Mackenzie “The Bruiser” Black ran away to get out from under the dark cloud that hung over his life and from his two titled best friends. Growing up as “the boy from the docks” left him with a chip on his shoulder the size of the Cliffs of Dover. He found success in DC, but home kept calling him until he couldn’t ignore it anymore. He thought he could deal with everything and get the hell out of dodge until Nina, Haile’s new tenant. Among the Christmas lights and cozy fires, she was a breath a fresh air. Sweet smiles from her led to passionate, heated kisses that could help a man forget old wounds. But he couldn’t stay. Wouldn’t stay. Unfortunately, his past comes call and Nina gets caught in the middle. Mac has no choice but to resurrect The Bruiser once more.

Book excerpt: The Silent Patient by way of Stephen King: Parker, a young, overconfident psychiatrist new to his job at a mental asylum, miscalculates catastrophically when he undertakes curing a mysterious and profoundly dangerous patient. In a series of online posts, Parker H., a young psychiatrist, chronicles the harrowing account of his time working at a dreary mental hospital in New England. Through this internet message board, Parker hopes to communicate with the world his effort to cure one bewildering patient. We learn, as Parker did on his first day at the hospital, of the facility's most difficult, profoundly dangerous case--a forty-year-old man who was originally admitted to the hospital at age six. This patient has no known diagnosis. His symptoms seem to evolve over time. Every person who has attempted to treat him has been driven to madness or suicide. Desperate and fearful, the hospital's directors keep him strictly confined and allow minimal contact with staff for their own safety, convinced that releasing him would unleash catastrophe on the outside world. Parker, brilliant and overconfident, takes it upon himself to discover what ails this mystery patient and finally cure him. But from his first encounter with the mystery patient, things spiral out of control, and, facing a possibility beyond his wildest imaginings, Parker is forced to question everything he thought he knew. Fans of Sarah Pinborough's Behind Her Eyes and Paul Tremblay's The Cabin at the End of the World will be riveted by Jasper DeWitt's astonishing debut.
