Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the newly updated 2024 edition of The Loan Officer's Handbook for Success. I update The Loan Officer's Handbook for Success every year to ensure that you receive this mortgage training manual that reflects what is now required regarding mortgage policies and procedures, regulations and laws, and loan origination documents for originating and processing mortgage loans for the current year. That's always been very important to me. Now why, you may ask, is that important? Well, the mortgage lending business is quite dynamic with home loan origination polices, regulations and laws, and required home loan application documents changing all the time. As a result, there have been so many changes to the home loan origination process, within the past 3 to 8 years, that if a mortgage training manual has been written or copyrighted prior to 2020 then that manual is outdated. I would further add, that if a mortgage training manual has been written or copyrighted during or prior to 2016 then that manual is so outdated that, in my opinion, that mortgage training manual is not worth paying any amount for. So, if you are looking for a current Mortgage Training Manual and Resource for you and/or your Loan Officers - then look no further! Becoming a mortgage loan originator can seem like quite a challenge because of all the currently required loan documents, policies and procedures, types of mortgage loans, and regulations and laws. This is especially true if you did not initially receive the training you needed so you could confidently and professional go forward and succeed in this business. Now you can receive that complete training you need with The Loan Officer's Handbook for Success. The Loan Officer's Handbook for Success presents not only all the many and important subjects that mortgage loan originators need to know to be successful and close more home loans but also gives you insights into the What, Why, and How of mortgage loan origination: Like you are actually there. It's like attending your own personal mortgage training seminar. But, with this in-depth training manual, with 527 pages and 28 chapters, you'll learn much more than you would attending a mortgage training seminar of 3-5 days. It's practical, real world, detailed, easy to understand, and gives the reader step-by-step instructions on how to conduct oneself as a loan officer and handle mortgage loans. Checkout the Table of Contents and you'll see that "no stone has been left unturned" in providing you with the most up-to-date and comprehensive mortgage training manual and resource available today. Since 2004 The Loan Officer's Handbook for Success has been updated and revised annually to reflect any new and required loan documents, policy changes, and regulations and laws within the mortgage lending business and it's now in its 2024 edition.

Book excerpt: After giving up a lucrative New York City architectural career to avoid being stalked by his boss's daughter, Graham found himself in a utopian country lifestyle in "upstate." His high standards kept him from serious relationships with the opposite sex during his youth, but he found his perfect woman in a most unusual setting when he least expected it. But his past was not to be denied, and it was destined to catch up with him and plunge him into an international intrigue that cost him the love of his life and nearly his life itself. The gripping story of how drugs, human trafficking, betrayal, obsession, greed, and tremendous tragedy are overcome by enduring love based on biblical principles is told in this heart-wrenching story. One Flesh is the love story that all women long for in their personal lives, and its ending will leave them believing it is possible.

Book excerpt: THE MOST DANGEROUS ASSASSIN IS THE ONE WHO BELIEVES HE IS ALREADY DEAD. A razor-sharp, high-tech, wildly imaginative new novel from internationally bestselling author John Twelve Hawks, Spark features a narrator unlike any in recent fiction—a man whose view of life and death is different from anything you’ve ever imagined. Jacob Underwood is a contract employee of the Special Services Section, a small shadow department buried within the multinational corporation DBG, headquartered in New York City. Jacob is not a businessman . . . he is a hired assassin . . . and his job is to neutralize problems deemed unacceptable by the corporation. But Jacob is not like other employees, nor is he like other people. After a catastrophic motorcycle accident leaves him with Cotard’s syndrome—an actual condition that causes those afflicted to believe they are dead—Jacob perceives himself as nothing but a “Shell,” with no emotions and no tether to the concept of right and wrong. Emily Buchanan is a bright young second-year associate for DBG, and she has disappeared without a trace. Suspecting that Emily has stolen either vast sums of money or valuable information from the company, Ms. Holquist, Jacob’s handler at DBG, assigns him the task of tracking down the young woman and neutralizing her. Jacob’s condition allows him to carry out assignments with ruthless, logical precision, devoid of guilt, fear, or dishonor. But as his new assignment draws him inside a labyrinthine network of dark dealings, Jacob finds himself up against something he is completely incapable of understanding. Shifting with riveting precision from New York to London, Paris to New Delhi, Spark is a thriller that delves into the surveillance state we prognosticate today . . . and will live in tomorrow. In the hands of master storyteller John Twelve Hawks, a unique character’s startling transformation comes to life, making Spark a thriller that resonates and satisfies on many levels.

Book excerpt: The right mindset can make you three times more likely to get the job you want-and even less likely to lose it later. What does it take to get and keep the job you want? Ninety-six percent of employers argue that it's not just about having the right skills for the position- it's all about the right mindset. As two leading experts on the subject, Reed and Stoltz know what employers really want from the people they hire and keep. According to their extensive and globally acclaimed research, there is a specific set of mental traits that will make you exponentially more desirable to potential employers, and more likely to succeed and enjoy your job once you're hired. This "3G Mindset" is: ? Global-the openness and big-picture perspective to compete on a global scale in any job ? Good-a positive force with an unwavering moral compass ? Grit-the tenacity and resilience to thrive on adversity The authors reveal why employers are three times more likely to hire people with the right mindset over those who are more qualified on paper. This book provides an actionable approach for both assessing and developing these essential traits.

Book excerpt: Today, in 2012, the country is again just as torn as it has was in the 1970s due once again to Middle East wars, the Great Recession of 2007 - 2012, President Obama's constant and incendiary rhetoric, incessant politicking over race, ObamaCare, divisive dialogue of the haves and have-nots, his infamous campaign gaffe to Joe the Plumber, "spread the wealth around", the "99% vs the Top 1%" (class warfare), "millionaires and billionaires" and his war with big business. So much for "Hope and Change", "Change We Can Believe In" and my favorite "the first post-racial president." To the contrary, the United States of America is as unsettled, divided and angry as I have seen it since the 1960's and the early 1970's. The big questions are easy ones: "Why?" and "What caused this return to the anger and the hostilities of the 60's and 70's?" Since I am part of the baby boom generation and was very much a participant in both the professions of Wall Street and mortgage banking, I am in a unique position to tell you about what I saw and heard up close and personal in the 1960's - 1970's AND about the decade that led up to what culminated in the Great Recession of 2007-2012 that we are still clawing our way out of. Here are a few things that might surprise you, further discussed in this book: 1. The overwhelming majority of "Greedy Wall Streeters" and "Fat Cat Bankers" are massive and consistent donors to liberal Democrats, even in 2012 in the face of Obama's persistent (and false) accusations of casting them as the "fat cat bankers" and "greedy Wall Streeters" as causing the recession! 2. The senior most executives in these companies pilloried by President Obama, gave upwards of 60% of total donations, over $20M, to Obama's 2008 presidential campaign and his Political Action Committees into 2009. 3. The earliest beginnings of the current Financial Crisis started back in the late 1970's. 4. Some of the names that were catalysts of the Financial Crisis are very well known activists, anarchists, life-long socialists, present and former D.C. politicians and three very well known U.S. presidents. 5. And, just in case you have not done your research or taken the time to trace the trail of bread crumbs back to the source... you need to know the irrefutable reality that: The Subprime Mortgage Crisis = The Financial Crisis of 2007 - 2012 6. From the very beginnings of The Financial Crisis in the fall of 2007, the media referred to this as The Subprime Mortgage Crisis, until they didn't.

Book excerpt: Improve your knowledge of the ways global trends shape activism with this insightful volume that will supercharge your impact on communities and organizations Undercurrents: Channeling Outrage to Spark Practical Activism brings the perspective of experienced global social innovation leader, scholar and speaker, Steve Davis, to bear on some of the most powerful and helpful macrotrends rippling through society today. The book teaches readers how to harness their outrage and capitalize on global trends to instigate and encourage change across the world. The author identifies five global undercurrents with outsized importance that are shaping our world: Global economies are moving away from the old pyramid model into a diamond, bringing powerful new possibilities for human well-being; Communities are becoming the customer – rather than passive beneficiaries - as social change is increasingly led by local voices and activists; Equity is leveling and reshaping the field of social change and activism; Digital disruption, through the power of data and digital tools, impacts almost everything; and The middle of the journey to social change is becoming surprisingly sexy, as we focus on adapting innovation for widespread impact at scale. The book’s lessons are supported throughout by stories, experiences, data and observations from across the globe. Undercurrents is perfect for activists and leaders of all kinds who aim to increase their impact on their organizations and the world at large, as well as the intellectually curious who hope to increase their understanding of the changing world around them.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It’s hardly an exaggeration to claim that over the last few decades, central bankers have achieved unprecedented status. Especially since the global financial crisis of 2008, the world holds its breath whenever they announce new policy interventions. Given the opaque nature of the money supply, in the eyes of most citizens, the “mystic hand” of central bankers is felt everywhere. Never before have central bank policies been so decisive, not only for financial markets but also for national economies and public welfare in general. This book traces the way in which central bankers learned, unlearned, relearned and still have to learn the tricks of their trade. The lessons taught by nineteenth-century grands savants like Henry Thornton and Walter Bagehot, once instilled, were eventually neglected. This led directly to the policy mistakes that produced the Great Depression of the 1930s. When the financial crisis of 2008 broke out, central bankers the world over summoned Thornton’s and Bagehot’s wisdom and acted accordingly. This re-learning saved the world from a repetition of the Great Depression. But when the worst of the financial crisis and ensuing recession were over, central bankers continued applying unconventional monetary policies—in some areas of the world, this even extended to negative policy interest rates and massive interventions in the bond markets, which resulted in constant injections of liquidity. Once the Covid-19 pandemic arrived, most central bankers doubled down on the intensity of these kinds of policies. While the financial crisis required central bankers to act in decisive ways, it can no longer be denied that the consequences of these expansive monetary policies have become major issues. Central bank policies of the last decade and a half have resulted in a relentless build-up of leverage and debt; led to speculative bubbles in different kinds of markets; undermined the willingness of political authorities to put their fiscal houses in order; stimulated a “zombification” of the economy and the growth of shadow banking activities; and contributed to growing inequality around the world. Central bankers are at a crucial turning point for the future of their profession, and even more for the future of our economy. New lessons have to be learnt. Our future depends on these being the right lessons.
