Book excerpt: Examines the stigmatization of the State of Israel, and antisemitism as its indirect result. The foreword, pp. 23-44, discusses demonization of Israel and antisemitism in France since 1967, the legitimacy of the State of Israel, Arab denial of it, and Arab incitement, as well as accusations that Israel is an occupying, colonizing, apartheid state. Pt. 1, "Les maîtres censeurs" (pp. 49-87), contains short opinion pieces on various aspects of the antisemitic surge in France in 2000-04. Topics include the denationalization of the French Jews, the European Intifada (i.e. how anti-Zionism has replaced antisemitism as the main form of hatred directed against the Jews), and overexposure of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in the European media. In pt. 2, ch. 6, "Israel = Apartheid?" (pp. 127-130), reflects on charges that Israeli discrimination against Palestinians equals apartheid.
