It has a complete code of ethics for a happy life and peaceful and tranquil life after death. Islam is pure from all imperfections, defects and blemishing effects. It is a perfect way of life. Any deviant or abnormal behavior observed on a Muslim should have no bearing on Islam, non-what-so-ever. The reason for such a deviation or bad behavior is due to ill knowledge of the faith itself, or due a weak faith that led to such deviant acts. Islam, by no mean, should be assessed or evaluated based on the individuals’ behavior and attitudes.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The world is at a crossroads today. A tiny minority of Muslims seems to be bent on hijacking the religion of Islam and bringing it into perpetual conflict with the rest of the world. Because of their actions, very few non-Muslims understand the real difference between Islam as it has always been, and the distorted perversions of Islam today. This book is an attempt to positively say what Islam actually is—and always was—as well as what it is not. “Lucid in its explanations, unassailable in its logic; a book of the moment; simply spot on.” – H.E. Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, The Sultan of Sokoto, Nigeria “Easy to read, easy to understand and easy to swallow and digest. It very beautifully explains what Islam really is, how it is explained in its sacred texts, and how it has been understood throughout centuries by the overwhelming majority of Muslims.” – Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani “A very much needed book, comprehensive, yet concise, easy to read, and authoritative. A must-read book.” – Shaykh Muhammad Al-Yaqoubi “A salient account of a mighty faith drawn in deft strokes by an insider. Edifying, broad, and stimulating.” – Shaykh Nuh Keller “Much anxiety comes from not properly understanding what others think or believe. One example today is the widespread misunderstanding of Islam. So when a respected scholar of Islamic philosophy such as Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad writes A Thinking Person’s Guide to Islam, it is of global significance. I welcome the publication of this book, convinced that interested readers will find much in it to inspire them and set their minds at rest.” – H.H. the 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso “A most authentic presentation of Islam in its contemporary context.” – Professor M. Hashim Kamali, IAIS, Malaysia “Exceptionally lucid in explanation, deeply scholarly and yet accessible on a popular level, this is an essential book for Muslims and non-Muslims alike at this time in our civilization.” – Revd Canon Professor Paul S. Fiddes, Professor of Systematic Theology, University of Oxford “A concise, luminously clear, and highly readable explanation of Islam from the pen one of its best educated and most influential advocates.” – Professor Miroslav Volf, Yale University Divinity School

Irshad addresses all people, Muslim and non-Muslim alike, in this universal message about the importance of independent thought and internal strength, of love, liberty, free speech, and the pursuit of happiness. Allah, Liberty, and Love is about creating choices beyond conforming or leaving the faith, which is what Manji hears from young Muslims who write to her in frustration, whose emails, letters, and conversations are included in this book. Manji writes, "I'll show struggling Muslims how to embrace a third option: reforming ourselves." And she recounts many affecting stories from young people who have contacted her for advice on how to step out of limiting views of Islam and the restrictions they put on life, love, family, and careers.

Book excerpt: The Alchemy of Happiness is a work of Islamic philosophy by Persian theologian, philosopher, mystic, and moralist Al-Ghazzali. Written around AD 1105, this was one of many works by the great man to help Muslims clarify which aspects of contemporary philosophy contradicted the faith, and which supported it. In middle age, Al-Ghazzali was in the midst of a successful career as a well-known educator and guest at the court of a powerful vizier. Despite his accomplishments, he abandoned his lucrative posts in AD 1095 and disposed of his wealth, electing to live as an ascetic and mystic. He chose not to teach at state-sponsored schools anymore, opting for a life of seclusion and teaching at smaller, donation-supported schools. He was considered one of the renewers of Islam, who are said to appear at the start of each century to cleanse the faith and keep it pure. This belief was supported by Al-Ghazzali's writing. He wrote over seventy works during his lifetime, with another twenty attributed to him but unconfirmed. Near the beginning of the twelfth century, Al-Ghazzali wrote The Alchemy of Happiness. It is a shorter, Persian version of his previous work, The Revival of Religious Sciences, originally written in Arabic. It is one of his many works of Sufism, and is considered Al-Ghazzali's most important Persian writing. The first four chapters of this book are commentary on the famous traditional saying from Muhammad: "He who knows himself knows God." In the first chapter, Al-Ghazzali explains the knowledge of the self. Each of us has attributes of animals, devils, and angels, he writes, and it is up to us to determine which are which. Rather than indulging in earthly pleasures that come to us from our more brutish instincts, we should strive toward our angelic selves, and "Contemplate the beauty of God." The second chapter is concerned with the knowledge of God. Starting from the premise that man did not make himself, and that everything mortal man needs has been provided from "the storehouse of creation," we begin to become aware of God's mercy and love. The events of a lifetime, even illness and suffering, are designed to lead individuals to God. In the next chapter, we learn about the world as it is. It is a place where we are put to prepare for our future journey-that is, to prepare for the afterlife. If we spend our time caring for our bodies and nourishing our souls through knowledge and love of God, we will be prepared for the next phase of our journeys to happiness. The final step in the alchemy is the knowledge of the next world. Each man possesses two souls: an animal and an angelic soul. The animal soul emits from the heart, and powers the organs and limbs of the body. When that heart ceases to beat, the animal soul dies. The angelic soul is not tied to the body, so when the animal soul dies, the angelic soul is freed. If that soul was tied to earthly pleasures like money and family, it will suffer from the loss of them. But if the soul had a lesser connection to the world and a stronger connection to God, then it will rejoice and be at peace. The remaining chapters of the book go into greater detail about religious life; exploring music, self-examination, and marriage as either aids or detractors to the work of the angelic soul. The primary thesis of The Alchemy of Happiness is that a life of self-discipline and devotion to God is fundamental to the joy of living. Al-Ghazzali's legacy was to bring Sufism, or Islamic mysticism, into the orthodoxy of Islam. He is considered by some to be the most important Muslim after the prophet Muhammad, and he was given the title "The Proof of Islam" during his life.

The genetic code of each species cannot be changed. The animal in every man is caged. He is happy locked away, behind bars, in his prison of silence. Entice the beast and he’ll murder the prey. Women are the keys to control the fury. If the curiosity of the howling sounds lures them towards the mating call that every wolf seeks to taste, they will ravage the meal. They must keep the doors to that pleasure locked and the beast remains shackled. Women are magnetic fields, emitting a mighty force through the language her body speaks. She walks like the moon and the motion of her sways linger, leaving behind marks on man’s territory. She is beautiful, flawless, hypnotic and perfect. A species with such attributes must be the jewel in the museum, to be admired for her miraculous existence. Displaying the priceless ornament will tempt the insatiable thief to steal and blemish the purity of a unique stone. We are different. To tame the wild nature of man, her distance from the wolf is imperative. Crawling towards him, with her spineless motives and empty words, pretending to be victual, his hunger will exacerbate and his greed, impossible to control. Women must be modest. That, which is not on show, cannot tempt and that, which cannot tempt will be safe and that, which is safe is protected and secured and out of harm’s way.”

Book excerpt: “Searching for God not only offers an inspiring, emotional insight to the author's journey to and through Islam, it beautifully maps out Islamic principles in an understandable and relatable way. Truly a five-star read!” - Ameena Blake, Muslim scholar, UK “A story of a Christian who always carried Islam – unknowingly – in her heart until she finally discovered it, then artistically crafted her experience with a feather. Rarely does a book touch my heart and inspire me like that.” - Fadel Soliman Bridges' Translation of the Ten Qira'at of the Noble Quran “One of my earliest memories is of contemplating God. I was a freckle-faced girl of five, sitting quietly in catechism class when the teacher casually said, ‘God is bigger than everything.' The words hit me like a blast force. The classroom disappeared, the teacher's voice muted, and I gasped at the revelation. Bigger than the tallest tree in the yard? Bigger than a mountain? Bigger than the world? The enormity of God impressed me, but I couldn't help wondering, ‘If He is bigger than anything, where is He?'” In this inspirational memoir, Teresa Lesher shares her search for God. She explores factors that have made her who she is as well as influencers who shape who she aspires to be and who lead her in her quest for the Divine. She dissects basic concepts that have been essential for her understanding of God as well as paradigms that shape her experience of Him. She shares her journey along the Divine Path and closer to Divine Presence through expressions of submission to Him. This quest for God takes her to her innermost self and ends with a discovery of life, an understanding of love, and a commitment to truth.

Book excerpt: From the creation of the very first humans, Adam and Eve, marriage has been an institution chosen by God for the human race as being the only permitted way that a man and woman can spend their lives with each other. Marriage is often portrayed as a fairy-tale, with the couple living happily ever after. However, the reality is that there are always ups and downs in marriage, and dealing with marital issues is not something that you learn in school. This book is an invaluable resource for people that are intending to marry, or newlyweds, or have been married for many years. It answers many questions that people may have had about the marriage process; choosing the right spouse, the sensitive nature of intimacy and sex, and how to deal with problems and arguments as they come up. When we can deal with these problems in an expedient and efficient manner, it will result in a harmonious and blissful marriage, God willing. Hopefully, this book will provide all the appropriate resources for couples that want to fill their marriage with happiness and joy. This book is the second work by the author, his first being "Islam: Silencing the Critics."
