When once this ditfi culty is conquered, a result that may be attained at the end of the first thirty-six lessons, the pupil will have nothing to do but to perfect himself in declining and conjugating. He may then be said to have acquired the language; for he then will only have to remember the nomenclature of the words, and to account for the rules. I have thought it advisable in the second part of the Method to give a recapitulation of all the parts of speech, especially for those persons who, not having sufficiently studied the grammar of their native tongue, will not be sorry, to find there a few simple explana tions on general grammar.
