Book excerpt: Excerpt from A Brief Commentary on the Apocalypse, Vol. 2 The Bible is its own interpreter and when practicable, scripture should be explained by scripture. The meaning imputed to any passage must never contradict, but must harmonize with that of parallel texts. In illustrating the several references in the Apocalypse to the same events and epochs, a repetition of scripture is somewhat unavoidable. Download or read book Apocalypse Secrets written by John Able and published by John Able Books Ltd.. This book was released on 2022-06-21 with total page 405 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Apocalypse Secrets: Baha'i Interpretation of the Book of Revelation with 60 illustrations is a fresh provocative Parallel Interpretation of the Apocalypse or Book of Revelation. The author, John Able MD, is a retired intensive-care physician. He uses Baha'i Writings that interpret parts of the Apocalypse to decode it as a global tale of three millennia now passing through four centuries of the events of religious end-times. It is a tale of the struggles of seven Empires and seven Faiths, of their materialism and militarism, and the resulting mess into which the world is now crescendoing furiously and fast. These events center on the apocalyptic war waging between the Revelation beast of Muslim Militarism that drives the Middle East and the Revelation Babylon of Malignant Materialism that drives the Christian West. The fall of both is inevitable, with economic crises spiraling the globe into a paralytic depression, now triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic and its aftermath. The good news is that spiritual economics will arise and our painful end times into wonderful beginning times. Apocalypse Secrets is a profound and astonishing work in biblical exegesis-a real tour de force as a strikingly original, scholarly, remarkably holistic, comprehensive, and rationally consistent interpretation of the Book of Revelation. Able intelligently probes and penetrates many of the great religious mysteries, and cogently argues that Revelation extends far beyond its strictly Middle East Christic origin. It transcends religious dogma, bridges religious faiths, and explains nineteen hundred years of troubling events in Christianity and Islam with amazing clarity and prescience. It is amazingly detailed and thorough. The author's stylish rhetoric is colorful and alive and his book beautifully crafted and researched, making for an engaging, enlightening, and thought-provoking read. In the end, a scholarly Translation Section decodes original Greek and Hebrew sources. Its strikingly lively translation sticks to the intention of the Greek original. It provides an authoritative base for his distinctive Parallel Interpretation. For anyone striving to penetrate the hidden secrets of the Apocalypse, Apocalypse Secrets is a must reading. This exceedingly interesting book will influence many future works about the subject and become a template of understanding and peace for all. After they read it, people who are interested in prophecy will never look at the Book of Revelation the same again. Visit www.apocalypse.info for more.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from The Apocalypse Interpreted, Vol. 2: In the Light of "the Day of the Lord," Here, besides the unintelligible clause to which I have annexed a note of interrogation, it is pleaded that my works, including the one under notice, were advertised in the same number of the Journal which contained Mr. Birks' article. But how could this mere accident have influenced Mr. B., who did not know of it till the Journal was published Again, how could it be expected that from a general similarity of subject, a reader would identify an unnamed pamphlet with one in a column of advertisements And as to his writing to the Publisher of the Journal for information, why Should it be thought that the latter would be able to give it? For, surely, books might be reviewed in the Journal, with which he had no connexion as Publisher. Nor, as the case was, could it have occurred to him, as an experienced man, that a work to which the Author's name was fully attached, was the same with one alluded to, without the clue of Author or Publisher, by a respectable reviewer in his own periodical! I admit, that probably by writing to the Editor, a very inquisitive reader might discover, by a notice in the following number of the Journal, that my Pamphlet was the one alluded to. But was it fair, I ask, was it conformable to precedent for Mr. Birks to so write his review that only readers of this stamp, and after so long an interval, could satisfy themselves on the point. The secret wound, as Mr. Birks calls it, of which I complain, has been inflicted, I repeat, not on myself, but on the cause of which I am an humble advocate. In addition, its distinguished editor, Joze Krasovec, has commissioned a wide range of contributions devoted to translations of the Bible in many languages, including the Slavonic languages, Croatian, Czech, Hungarian, Polish and the Scandinavian languages. The 82 chapters in this work, mostly in English, are divided into three parts. Part I, on ancient translations and hermeneutics of the Bible, contains contributions by M.-E. Boismard, S.P. Brock, K.J. Cathcart, R.P. Gordon, L.J. Grech, M. Hengel, O. Keel, J. Lust, E. Tov and others, with a notable comprehensive bibliographic survey of oriental Bible translations from the first millennium by M. van Esbroeck. Part II, on Slavonic and other translations of the Bible, includes the first detailed study of the history of the Slavonic Bible, by Francis J. Thomson (over 300 pp.). Part III, with essays by such scholars as J.H. Charlesworth, D.J.A. Clines, J. Gnilka, M. G÷rg, N. Lohfink and A.C. Thiselton, concerns the interpretation of the Bible in translation, philosophy, theology, art and music.
