Man verpackt sein Leben in Kisten, wechselt Wohnung und Wohnort. Am Zielort ist dann alles neu und anders: die Nachbarn, die Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, der Weg zur Arbeit oder zur Schule. Meistens ist dieser Umzug auch mit einer Verbesserung der Lebensumstände verbunden. Der Weg zur Arbeit ist kürzer, die Wohnung komfortabler oder die Gegend schöner. Aber was ist, wenn man in ein neues Land zieht, mit einer fremden Sprache, einer fremden Kultur? Auch für Migranten kann der Umzug in ein anderes Land ein Vorteil sein, der Kontakt zu einer anderen Kultur bringt dennoch viele Herausforderungen mit sich. Diese Ausarbeitung wird sich damit beschäftigen, wie schwierig es ist einander zu verstehen, wenn kulturell unterschiedlich geprägte Handlungsweisen im Gesundheitssystem in Deutschland aufeinandertreffen. Handlungsweisen in Bezug auf Krankheit, Schmerz, Scham, Sterben oder aber auf Familie können den zunehmend internationaler werdenden Krankenhausaufenthalt prägen. Im Folgenden wird aufgezeigt, dass der Besuch im Krankenhaus eine große Belastung sowohl für Migranten, als auch für Pfleger oder Ärzte sein kann. Denn im weitesten Sinne hat das Krankenhaus auch eine Art eigener Kultur. Da das Thema Interkulturelle Kommunikation im Krankenhaus ein sehr weites ist, beziehe ich mich an dieser Stelle auf die Zielgruppe der muslimischen Patienten. Diese bildet in Deutschland die größte zugewanderte Migrantengruppe. Außerdem sind die kulturellen Unterschiede der religiösen Vorstellungen durch den Islam besonders different und somit prägend für die Kommunikation im Krankenhaus zwischen Patient und Angestellten. Eine Studie der Charité Berlin, die verschiedene ausländische Patienten erfasste, ergab, dass 30% der Untersuchten türkische Patienten

Zuerst stelle ich die Zielgruppe „Muslimische Patienten“ vor und beginne dann die Problematik zwischen Klinikpersonal und den muslimischen Patienten darzustellen. Hierbei beginne ich mit der Herausforderung der sprachlichen Barriere zwischen ausländischem Patient und Krankenhausmitarbeiter. Weiterhin schildere ich die kulturellen Differenzen und zeige Unterschiede in Bezug auf das Besuchsverhalten der Angehörigen und den Glauben der Patienten und die daraus resultierenden Handlungsweisen im Krankenhaus. Ergänzend weise ich die Problematik hinsichtlich der medizinischen Maßnahmen, dem differenten Schmerzempfinden und der Einstellung zu Tod und Trauer hin.f. Ebenfalls beschreibe ich, in wieweit eine unterschiedliche Intimsphäre sowie besondere Verhaltensweisen angesichts gegengeschlechtlicher Krankenpfleger oder Ärzte die Interaktion zwischen beiden Parteien erschweren können. Im fünften Teil der Ausarbeitung weise ich auf nötige Veränderungen im Gesundheitssystem hin, welche die interkulturelle Kommunikation verbessern könnten. Ein weiterer wichtiger Punkt ist die Thematik des Dolmetschens im Krankenhaus. Hier werde ich die aktuelle Situation, Problematik und einen Zukunftsausblick anhand eines Beispiels schildern. Schlussendlich ziehe ich ein Resümee zur Situation der Interkulturellen Kommunikation im Krankenhaus. An dieser Ausarbeitung ist zu beachten, dass alle kulturellen Verhaltensweisen, die geschildert werden, nicht auf alle türkischen Muslime zutreffen. Hier werden lediglich die meist beschriebenen Konfliktsituationen aufgezählt. „DEN Muslim gibt es genauso wenig, wie DEN Christen“ (Becker 2006, S. 16). Sinn dieser Arbeit ist es, aufzuzeigen wo es zu Problemen in der Kommunikation zwischen Krankenhausangestellten und türkischen Muslimen kommen kann, woran sich die bestimmten Verhaltensweisen begründen und wie die Situation in Zukunft verbessert werden kann (siehe 4.
