Des théories permettent de la définir comme correspondant à la prise de conscience de l'ensemble des sensations proprioceptives des organes bucco-phonatoires en statique et en dynamique lors de l'articulation de la parole. Il apparaît clairement, au regard des études menées, que cette conscience articulatoire est déficitaire chez l'enfant dyslexique et que ce déficit peut perdurer à l'âge adulte même lorsque les compétences en lecture ne sont plus lacunaires. De plus, des auteurs ont montré une corrélation entre conscience phonologique et conscience articulatoire. Nous pouvons donc supposer qu'une conscience articulatoire faible fera écho à une conscience phonologique déficitaire. Pour permettre d'évaluer ce lien, nous avons créé une grille expérimentale d'évaluation de la conscience articulatoire. D'autre part, un entraînement spécifique et exclusif à la conscience articulatoire peut-il améliorer les performances en conscience phonologique, puis en lecture? Face à l'absence de tels entraînements nous proposons un protocole de rééducation de la conscience articulatoire et son matériel. Un groupe de neuf enfants dyslexiques a bénéficié de cet entraînement spécifique et un groupe contrôle de neuf enfants a poursuivi sa rééducation orthophonique habituelle. Nous avons évalué, avant et après dix séances, leurs compétences en conscience articulatoire, en conscience phonologique et en lecture. Les résultats à l'ensemble de ces épreuves permettent de mettre en évidence la corrélation effective entre la conscience articulatoire et la conscience phonologique, ainsi que l'efficacité et l'intérêt d'un entraînement spécifique à la conscience articulatoire auprès des enfants dyslexiques

Book excerpt: La dyslexie développementale est un trouble qui renvoie à une multitude de manifestations comportementales en lecture et en orthographe. Il existe à ce jour un consensus selon lequel le trouble phonologique est le plus fréquemment rencontré, qu'il soit isolé ou associé à un déficit visuo-attentionnel (dyslexie mixte). En effet, l'efficience de la lecture dépend directement de processus cognitifs sous-jacents que sont la mémoire à court terme verbale, la dénomination rapide automatisée, et la conscience phonologique et phonémique. Ces processus se trouvent ainsi perturbés dans le cadre de la dyslexie d'origine phonologique. C'est pourquoi, de nombreuses études ont été menées afin de proposer des entraînement ciblés et intensifs visant à les renforcer (Ehri et al., 2001 ; Galuschka et al., 2014 ; Torgesen et al., 1992). Dans la continuité de ces travaux, nous nous sommes interrogés sur l'intérêt de proposer un entraînement court, ciblé sur les processus phonologiques sous-jacents. A cette fin, nous avons sélectionné deux enfants de CM2 porteurs d'une dyslexie. Suite à un suivi orthophonique classique de deux mois, nous leur avons proposé un entraînement audio-phonologique informatisé (RAPDYS et PHONOPIDOW), associé à des tâches de fusion et de segmentation de mots. La durée de cet entraînement a été fixée à deux mois, à raison de 5 jours par semaine, pendant 15 à 20 minutes. Notre objectif principal était de mesurer l'impact de notre entraînement, en comparaison d'une prise en charge non spécifique, sur les performances en lecture et en orthographe. Les résultats de cette expérimentation ont montré une amélioration notable des performances en lecture des deux enfants, quel que soit leur profil de lecture (mixte et de surface) suite à la période d'entraînement intensif.
