Integrierte Kommunikation als Bestandteil der Marketingkommunikation ist das planvolle Zusammenspiel einzelner Kommunikationsdisziplinen in einem Unternehmen mit dem Ziel, eine ganzheitliche und in sich konsistente Kommunikation zu schaffen, die sowohl die Innen- als auch die Außenwirkung des Unternehmens positiv beeinflusst. Hierzu gibt es verschiedene Ansätze und Herangehensweisen, die in der Hausarbeit betrachtet werden, unter anderem die Formen der Integrierten Kommunikation nach Manfred Bruhn im Vergleich zur Lasswell-Formel oder der Fokus auf Content als Kundennutzen. Beispiele zeigen gelungene Integrierte Kommunikation auf. Es ist wichtig, der Vielfalt der Kommunikationsformen Rechnung zu tragen und allen Beteiligten gerecht zu werden. Für ein gutes Gelingen setzt das komplexe System der Integrierten Kommunikation Weitsicht und ein umfassendes Wissen über Kommunikationsprozesse sowie eine strikte und transparente Zusammenarbeit in enger Abstimmung der einzelnen Organisationseinheiten eines Unternehmens (je nach Größe beispielsweise Abteilungen, Filialen, strategische Geschäftseinheiten) voraus. Die Verantwortung für die Umsetzung Integrierter Kommunikation ist daher in der Regel im Management bzw. bei der Geschäftsführung angesiedelt.
