Book Synopsis Integrated Periodization in Sports Training & Athletic Development by : Tudor Bompa
Download or read book Integrated Periodization in Sports Training & Athletic Development written by Tudor Bompa and published by Meyer & Meyer Media. This book was released on 2019-04 with total page 224 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Integrated Periodization in Sports Training & Athletic Development considers the large problem of training specialists working in isolation and builds a case for integrated periodization as conceived by Tudor Bompa. The book begins by defining periodization as a specific theory and methodology, historically detailing how the term was formally derived, differentiating it from the current view of periodization as a Russian concept. Next, the authors clarify some common misconceptions of periodization by integrating evidence-based practice with emphasis on sports nutrition, psychological preparation, and training methodology. The book explores sport-specific applications of integrated periodization, development of biomotor abilities, and long-term planning. A novel paradigm for viewing adaptation is introduced, moving past homeostasis to include allostasis, and one approach (Maximum Recoverable Volume) is detailed that may be used to more effectively manage fatigue. Finally, the book includes a chapter on tapering strategies to peak athletes for competition using an integrated approach.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "This report describes the third in a series of projects to design and develop the Commanders' Integrated Training Tool (CITT) for the Close Combat Tactical Trainer (CCTT), a system of armored vehicle manned-module simulators and workstations that allows units to train collective armor and infantry tasks at the platoon through battalion task force level. The CITT provides unit commanders and other trainers with comprehensive information on CCTT and on structured training as well as the ability to produce exercise Training Support Packages. Previous projects produced the design for the objective CITT and prototype applications in desktop and web-based formats. The current project produced a fully-fieldable CITT including the embedded CCTT Exercise Initialization Tool. This version was expanded to include stability and support operations capabilities, use of CCTT enhancements, and increased flexibility of file use to allow it to run on any computer with sufficient resources. Near-, mid-, and long-term implementation strategies and fielding plans were developed and are presented along with lessons learned and recommendations for future actions."--DTIC.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: PERSPECTIVE This book is important to everyone concerned with the design and development of people-oriented systems. The Manpower and Personnel Integration (MANPRINT) program is a major military system procurement initiative adopted by the Army to focus on the needs and capabilities of the soldier. This program is unique in that it integrates six areas of user concerns which include human factors engineering, manpower, personnel, training, health hazards, and system safety throughout the development cycle of Army materiel. Even though MAN PRINT was developed for Army systems, the philosophy and techniques used in this program extend well beyond military systems used by soldiers. It can be applied to all products and systems used by people such as automobiles, airplanes, boats, control rooms, automated manufacturing, telecommunications, computers, and medical equipment. Interestingly, the impetus for MAN PRINT came from the senior managers who buy these systems. During the early and mid-1980s, two Army generals, M. R. Thurman and R. M. Elton, who served successively as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Personnel, were instrumental in fostering MANPRINT development. By the end of the 1980s, this program was integrated throughout the standard procurement system of the Army. The formal statement of acquisition policy is contained in Army Regulation 602-2.
Book Synopsis Integration of Vocational Education and Training Experiences by : Sarojni Choy
Download or read book Integration of Vocational Education and Training Experiences written by Sarojni Choy and published by Springer. This book was released on 2018-06-19 with total page 369 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book draws on experiences from a range of vocational education systems in different nation states and re-examines the purpose of providing experiences outside educational institutions; the kinds and extent of those experiences; and efforts made to ensure the integration of students’ experiences across sites. Analyses of the various vocational education systems, their purposes and practices across nations, and challenges experienced by different stakeholders illustrate different approaches to the integration of learning at different sites. The book includes a consideration of what constitutes the integration and reconciliation of experiences, and their attendant educational implications. This extends an appraisal of the concepts of integration, reconciliation, curriculum and work readiness, each of which has a range of connotations. Integration or reconciliation is differentiated from transfer of learning, which is commonly based on simple assumptions that the educational institutions will provide theory and that the workplaces will provide practice from the workplaces, and that the two can be easily linked by students. The contributions from different nation states clearly demonstrate that integration is a collaborative process and requires the agency of stakeholders operating at global, national and specific learning site levels.
