Last year we renewed our vows and are starting on the next 25 years! Gary and Dayle, Fort Worth My so call life as I knew it had completely crumbled from underneath me in an instant. I was broken. I was dead inside. I was lost. I was scared. My brother took me to Dr. B. I couldn't even drive! I didn't want to go. I thought it would be a waste of time. That was until I had my first session, then my second, then my third. The pain and the turmoil that I was feeling was suddenly being churned and kneaded to the point where it was slowly subsiding. He gave me hope when there was none. He gave me confidence when it had dissipated. In my 36 years on this earth, I've never met a more wise and brilliant and caring human being. My family and I could not be where we are today if it were not because of him. J.W., Kentucky Bob gave me this book as I started visiting with him last spring. If I'd had it when I was engaged, I would have never needed it five years into our marriage! My favorite part of the book was how practical it is. He told us you don't have to be a genius to turn your relationships around. We're not, but we did! Bill, Ohio I thought we'd tried everything to save our family, but there's stuff in here we never thought of that worked better and faster than we thought possible. Our marriage and family life have never been better. Even our kids have noticed that we actually love each other and enjoy family nights again! Jose and Maria, Dallas

Book excerpt: “Accessible and practical, Rabil’s book will appeal to anyone seeking not only to understand what it takes to succeed, but also to understand the courage, discipline, and grace it takes to become a champion. . .Wise, inspired reading.” — Kirkus From lacrosse legend Paul Rabil, lessons on becoming a true champion— in sports, business, and life Long before Paul Rabil had become lacrosses's most acclaimed player, the sport's first million-dollar man, and the cofounder of the Premier Lacrosse League, he always strove for greatness. The problem was he lacked a manual for how to achieve it— so, he set out to create one himself. He talked to Bill Belichick about how to prepare, Steph Curry about how to practice, Sue Bird about how to develop resilience, and Mark Cuban about how to build a career with longevity. From the wisdom of these and other legends, and through his own—often painful—trial and error, he forged himself into a true champion. And in doing so, he wrote the manual he always wanted. The Way of The Champion is the synthesis of everything Rabil learned on his path to becoming one of the greatest lacrosse players of all time. But this is not merely a sports book. It is a guide to embodying a champion's mindset—in sports, in business, and in relationships. According to Paul Rabil, “No one is born to be a champion. It can only be earned— through equal parts philosophy, execution, and sheer determination. I've won and lost championships, business deals, and relationships. I've learned that our best moments come after we've faced our most devestating defeats— when we choose to rise with unwavering resolve. That's the way of the champion."

Book excerpt: With 2015 marking the 10th commemoration of Hurricane Katrina, education reform in New Orleans continues to garner substantial local, national, and international attention. Advocates and critics alike have continued to cite test scores, new school providers, and different theories of governance in making multiple arguments for and against how contemporary education policy is shaping public education and its role in the rebuilding of the city. Rather than trying to provide a single, unified account of education reform in New Orleans, the chapters in this volume provide multiple ways of approaching some of the most significant questions around school choice and educational equity that have arisen in the years since Katrina. This collection of research articles, essays, and journalistic accounts of education reform in New Orleans collectively argues that the extreme makeover of the city’s public schools toward a new market-based model was shaped by many local, historically specific conditions. In consequence, while the city’s schools have been both heralded as a model for other cities and derided as a lesson in the limits of market-based reform, the experience of education reform that has taken place in the city – and its impacts on the lives of students, families, and educators – could have happened only in New Orleans.
