Book excerpt: Foi conduzido o trabalho com o objetivo de avaliar o efeito da reserva de P da semente do feijoeiro sobre o estabelecimento da plântula dela originada e, os benefícios sobre a nodulação e crescimento inicial da planta, visando uma maior otimização no aproveitamento do fertilizante fosfatado. Foi dividido em quatro fases. Na primeira, correlacionou-se o aumento do conteúdo de P da semente com o aumento do P aplicado ao solo. Na segunda fase, as sementes com maior conteúdo de P, quando cultivadas em solos onde foram aplicadas doses crescentes desse elemento, se mostraram menos dependentes desse nutriente no solo. Na terceira fase, aumentou-se o conteúdo de P da semente, por embebição em solução de KH2PO4 em várias concentrações e tempos de embebição, observando-se que a concentração de 100mM de P no tempo de duas horas de embebição era a que aliava aumento do conteúdo de P com menor prejuízo a germinação. Finalmente, a quarta fase, em casa de vegetação, avaliou-se todos esses fatores num único experimento.

Foram realizados cinco ensaios, atraves dos quais estudou-se o efeito da presenca de niveis crescentes de N-NO3 combinado (0; 0,3; 0,6; 1,2 e 3,0 nM/l de solucao), o efeito do pH (4,0; 5,0; 6,0 e 7,0), o efeito de niveis crescentes de Calcio (0,01; 0,05; 0,25; 0,50; 1,25 e 2,50 nM/l de solucao), o efeito da presenca de solucao salina (5,0 nM de NaCl), o efeito de niveis crescentes de fosforo (0,01; 0,5; 0,20; 0,25 e 1,25 nM/l de solucao) a toxidez do Al (5 e 10 ppm) e do Mn (10 e 20 ppm) e asausencias do ferro e molibdenio. Estimativas de producao foram feitas atraves do peso da Materia Seca (M.S.) da parte aerea, da raiz, dos nodulos e M.S. total. a nodulacao foi avaliada atraves do numero de nodulos e do peso medio dos nodulos. A fixacao do N foi determinada atraves da atividade da nitrogenase avalia-se pelo metodo de reducao do acetileno e, pelas determinacoes dos teores de N na raiz e parte aerea, alem da quantidade total de N absorvido (mg/planta). Nos ensaios de Ca e P, procedeu-se a determinacao dos teores dos referidos elementos na parte aerea e na raiz. Em todos os ensaios, a analise de variancia detectou diferencas significativas entre Tratamentos, entre Variedades e entre Idade de colheita, para a quase totalidade das variaveis ...
