En el entorno empresarial, su impacto se refleja en la producción al convertirse en un obstáculo para la planificación de objetivos, lo que conlleva un aumento en los costos de producción y, en última instancia, encarece el producto final. Desde la perspectiva del trabajador, aunque la normativa vigente ofrece ciertos beneficios para abordar algunas situaciones relacionadas con el ausentismo, también puede generar tensiones que perjudican las relaciones laborales. Estas tensiones, a su vez, contribuyen a un ambiente laboral hostil que afecta negativamente la calidad y eficiencia en la generación del producto final. Este enfoque biopsicosocial del ausentismo nos lleva a concluir que las causas subyacentes son diversas y complejas. No solo impactan en la producción y los costos empresariales, sino que también influyen en la dinámica interpersonal dentro de la organización.

Book excerpt: Con el objetivo de analizar la distribución y características del absentismo laboral particularmente en cuanto a la duración de las ausencias por incapacidad laboral transitoria por enfermedad común, accidente no laboral y maternidad, a fin de analizar el impacto del servicio de salud laboral sobre la frecuencia y duracion del absentismo.se han recogido un total de 2158 episodios de ilt certificada. Se ha prestado especial atencion a las consultas realizadas tanto previas a la ilt como durante la misma por parte del trabajador. Se han empleado técnicas multivariantes para el control de variables confusoras, concretamente análisis de regresion multiple y de poisson. Para cada uno de los años de estudio se han estimado los indices de frecuencia, gravedad y duracion media del absentismo. observandose una ligera tendencia decreciente en todos ellos a partir del 1991. Los resultados se consideraron aceptables en el marco de lo referido por otros autores para trabajadores hospitalarios, y superiores a los indicados para otras poblaciones laborales fuera de este ambito. La distribucion de frecuencias de los episodios de baja según variables sociodemograficas y laborales (sexo, edad, categoría profesional, régimen laboral, día de la semana, estación del año, consulta al ssl, etc...) tanto sobre el total de bajas, como al excluir las que estaban relacionadas con patología del embarazo, parto y puerperio muestra como resultados mas destacables el predominio del sexo femenino, el grupo de edad de 30-39 años, el personal sanitario no facultativo, y los trabajadores con plaza en propiedad. Finalmente mas del 50% de los trabajadores en ilt utilizaron el ssl, tanto utilizaron el ssl, tanto en la consulta a demanda previa a la ilt, como durante la misma.
