En la primera parte de este trabajo se revisan los temas de género relacionados con la salud. La línea de análisis expuesta presta atención a diversas dimensiones de la política. En concreto, las críticas de los programas de ajuste estructural; el sesgo conceptual omnipresente en la economía que es "ciego" al género; y las implicaciones de género de la visión dogmática neoliberal de la RSS que el Banco Mundial ha auspiciado. En la segunda parte se plantea un desafío a los enfoques burocráticos sobre la incorporación transversal del enfoque de género, defendiendo un enfoque más sensible al contexto, que articule el género dentro del análisis de las políticas de salud.

This new textbook, edited by one of the authors of the seminal Women and the Environment in the Third World: Alliance for the Future (1988) which first exposed the links between environmental degradation and unequal impacts on women, provides a comprehensive introduction to gender aspects of climate change. Next it provides a theoretical framework for analyzing climate change manifestations and policies from the perspective of gender and human security.
