The cozy comedy of Joe Pera meets the darkly playful illustrations of Joe Bennett in A Bathroom Book for People Not Pooping or Peeing But Using the Bathroom as an Escape, a funny, warm, and sincere guide to regaining calm and confidence when you're hiding in the bathroom. “Nothing says ‘class’ to your dinner guests more than a Joe Pera book next to the can.” —Seth Meyers Joe Pera goes to the bathroom a lot. And his friend, Joe Bennett, does too. They both have small bladders but more often it’s just to get a moment of quiet, a break from work, or because it’s the only way they know how to politely end conversations. So they created a functional meditative guide to help people who suffer from social anxiety and deal with it in this very particular way. Although, it’s a comedic book, the goal is to help these readers: 1. Relax 2. Recharge 3. Rejoin the world outside of the bathroom It’s also fun entertainment for people simply hiding in the bathroom to avoid doing work. A Bathroom Book for People Not Pooping or Peeing But Using the Bathroom as an Escape will be waiting in the bathroom like a beacon for anxious readers looking to feel calm, confident, and less alone. “Nothing says ‘class’ to your dinner guests more than a Joe Pera book next to the can.” —Seth Meyers “A beautiful and funny book about something I have done all my life. Thank you, Mr. Joseph Pera.” —Aidy Bryant At the Publisher's request, this title is being sold without Digital Rights Management Software (DRM) applied.

Book excerpt: Praise for Quick: "T.M. McNally's stories are compact, complex, artful and truthful miracles of humanity and language-strong coffee for these narcoleptic times." -Pam Houston, author of Waltzing the Cat "Like good blues, these stories don't strain but seem to erupt from the heart, organic as blood." -Ann Cummins, author of Red Ant House "Quick is as bold as it is breakneck, part battle and part sermon, fiction meant for high ground and high heaven." -Lee K. Abbott, author of Wet Places at Noon From the author of Until Your Heart Stops and Almost Home, Quick is T. M. McNally's collection of powerful and starkly honest stories of American life. The stories in Quick are complex, sometimes harsh, yet always unafraid of the dark truths many of the characters are forced to confront. Dense and layered, these miniature and compact sagas endow their often damaged characters with uncommon brilliance. Themes of love, loss, addiction, and courage roam freely throughout, and the author sets an unforgettable and palpable tone that is exceedingly spare yet faceted with views of the richness beneath the surface of everyday life.

She decides to end the relationship. Kelsey, however, cant accept the breakup and becomes obsessed with her. She meets James Breckenridge III, known as Jimmy Austin, first at a jazz festival, then at a disco. Later, James saves her from the hands of three thugs trying to rape her. James has plenty of issues of his own: James has two twin boys resulting from a quick fling with Katy Fonteneau during the 1997 Mardi Gras. Katy is the sole daughter of parents who own an oil spill cleanup company, five plantation mansions, and numerous investments. He performs all the accounting and auditing tasks for Katys parents in return for a million a year salary and a lease with option to buy agreement for one of the mansions. DNA has shown that he is the father. He has decided not to marry her because he does not truly love her and believes that marriage is a life time commitment. Katy dies of a drug overdose. James agrees to raise the children with help from the nanny who is also related to the Fonteneaus. James and Lorina confide in each other, their sole means of support. They pray in earnest and ask God to forgive them of their sins. They accept Jesus as their savior and decide to make God number one in their lives. James first formally meets Kelsey in the New Orleans Police Headquarters break room. They start playing chess, but neither could accept defeat; The games could not end until they played to a stalemate. Unfortunately, life itself plays out the same way. Fortunately, the goodness of God triumphs over the evil forces of the Devil. Kelsey will resort to any means to get Lorina back, including rape, murder, and kidnappinganything but true love and devotion. He is evil, truly a product of the Devil.
