He was inspired by his brother Eddies band, Southern Acoustic, to compose his poems in the form of songs so they could be easily adapted to music. Aarons series of poetry collections is entitled Lyrics in Search of Music due the fact that Eddie could not write music to words already written. Aarons poetry covers a wide range of topics, from the ups and downs of love to taking one step at a time to get ones life back on track. He has created his poetry collection with the hope that at least one poem may have life breathed into it through the pairing of his lyrics with the right music. Each poem a lyrical feast waiting to be launched by the perfect melody. A unique journey towards mankinds constant search for hope. It closely mirrors emotions that everyone experiences and can easily relate to . The elements of great music lie within these pages waiting to be discovered! Maleah Bagwell, LMSW

Book excerpt: “[Charlie Huston’s] action scenes are unparalleled in crime fiction and his dialogue is so hip and dead-on that Elmore Leonard should be getting nervous.” –Publishers Weekly (starred review), on Half the Blood of Brooklyn It’s like this: a series of bullet-riddled bad breaks has seen rogue Vampyre and terminal tough guy Joe Pitt go from PI for hire to Clan-connected enforcer to dead man walking in a New York minute. And after burning all his bridges, the only one left to cross leads to the Bronx, where Joe’s brass knuckles and straight razor can’t keep him from running afoul of a sadistic old bloodsucker with a bad bark and a worse bite. Even if every Clan in Manhattan is hollering for Joe’s head on a stick, it’s got to be better than trying to survive in the outer-borough wilderness. So it’s a no-brainer when Clan boss Dexter Predo comes looking to make a deal. All Joe has to do to win back breathing privileges on his old turf is infiltrate an upstart Clan whose plan to cure the Vyrus could expose the secret Vampyre world to mortal eyes and set off a panic-driven massacre. Not cool. But Joe’s all over it. To save the Undead future, he just has to wade neck-deep through all the archenemies, former friends, and assorted heavy hitters he’s crossed in the past. No sweat? Maybe not, but definitely more blood than he’s ever seen or hungered for. And maybe even some tears–over the horror and heartbreaking truth about the evil men do no matter who or what they are. Praise for Charlie Huston and his Joe Pitt novels “In conceiving his world (a New York City divided by vampire clans, each with different reasons to hate Pitt), Huston gives a fading genre a fresh afterlife. [Grade:] A.” –Entertainment Weekly “[Huston] creates a world that is at once supernatural and totally familiar, imaginative, and utterly convincing.” –The Philadelphia Inquirer

Book excerpt: THE priest who wishes to say Mass should previously have recited at least Matins and Lauds, and this under pain of venial sin, according to the common opinion of theologians, against some who assert that it would be a mortal sin. This rule is founded on an ancient custom of the Church; for when Innocent IV. heard of the controversy raised on this point between the Archbishop of Nicosia and his Latin suffragans on the one side, and the Greek bishops of Cyprus on the other, he rendered this decision: “Sacerdos autem dicat Horas canonicas more suo; sed Missam celebrare, prius quam Officium matutinale compleverit, non presumat.”

This book was released on 2015-08-16 with total page 736 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Charles Robert Maturin's well-known novel, Melmoth the Wanderer (1820), occupies a high-point in Gothic literature. Lurid, vivid, sacrilegious, paranoid, anti-Catholic, painfully tortuous and gleefully drawn out in its depictions of suffering, its title character tries to find victims miserable enough to take over his bargain with "the enemy of mankind." Maturin displayed his talents of "darkening the gloomy" by interweaving tales of Melmoth's intended victims: the Englishman Stanton, ensnared into an insane asylum; the Spaniard Moncada, trapped in monasteries and prisons of the Inquisition; Immalee, an innocent child of nature; Elinor, a Puritan maiden crossed in love, blighted by cruel deception. All are confronted with Melmoth's icy seductions. Maturin's uncanny aptitude for alternating vertiginous intensity with brooding melancholy and despair leads the reader to a dark side of the psyche where the heavy price paid for redemption often tests human fortitude and conviction beyond the limits of endurance."

His "Melmoth the Wanderer" is considered by many to be the last traditional "Gothic" novel. Many of the Gothic romance and horror stories, particularly those dating back to the 1900s and before, are now extremely scarce and increasingly expensive. We are republishing these classic works in affordable, high quality, modern editions, using the original text and artwork.

Book excerpt: This sparkling fiction debut from singer-songwriter Dar Williams introduces an endearing new character to middle-grade literature.Amalee's world is all out of order. She's used to chaos, because of the frequent presence of her father's bantering, bickering group of fun friends. But when Amalee's dad becomes seriously ill, the chaos takes new forms -- and the ways of coping come from some very unexpected places. With clear-eyed, tender, funny prose, Dar Williams gives us a child's-eye view of a world under pressure, with everyone rising to the occasion in his or her own unique way. Both moving and wise, this marks the debut of a major middle-grade talent.

Book excerpt: Around a year ago I published ‘Writing about music’ an anthology (which is just a posh way of saying ‘collection’) of writing previously published in varying forms in varying places, curated (which is just a posh way of saying ‘cobbled together’) into one volume. I’ve been living high on the royalties ever since. Or I would have been if anybody had been prepared to buy it. Like most items of dubious quality it has, however, proved mildly popular when given away free. This second volume, with the imaginative title of ‘More writing about music’, is similar to the first, a collection of gig and album reviews, interviews with ‘pop stars’ and a mish mash of other oddities. Includes interviews with Paul Carrack, Tom Smith, John Flansburgh (They Might Be Giants), Geoff Downes (Yes), Meilyr Jones, Frank Allen (The Searchers), Scorpio (Grandmaster’s Furious Five featuring Mele Mel and Scorpio), Glenn Gregory (Heaven 17) and Norman Blake (Teenage Fanclub).

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Today’s Hispanic generation does not always handle the Spanish language as its vernacular. Many a time, major confusion occurs within Hispanic families because of the lack of bilingual skills. In the spiritist community, this language barrier has all too often caused potential mediums to either continue being handicapped in their development or choose another path that may lead to spiritual pitfalls. Additionally, the English-speaking community is fertile ground for new mediums from this cultural group. Many of the alleged translations of prayer books, particularly those of Allan Kardec, are a sham. You cannot translate them literally word for word. It must be translated in context of the cultural idea being presented. In this, whoever attempted the translations has slapped the public in the face with a horrid, nonsensical excuse for print. At some time, there will have to be a concerted effort to translate these works officially on paper. Up to now, it is done word of mouth, which leaves a lot to be desired when attending a misa (séance). Words evolve in definition over the centuries, as well as from one path in life to another. The word “cave” is a case in point. For mediums, the word originates as “boveda” (BO-vay-dah). The boveda consists of a grouping of glass goblets representing the spiritual quadrant of each medium. Boveda can also mean “hidden treasure box.” Indeed, this spiritual cave is a sanctuary from which our entities whisper their messages to us.
