Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Evacuate By Margaret Seiders-Metz It is hard to believe that these calm waters that we swim in, fish and cruise on with our pontoons and boats, would turn against us with its swift currents, dragging everything in its path along the way to destruction, leaving the victims suffering from the horrible disaster of flooding. It is useless to fight those swift, dangerous currents since they have strength of their own that no human can beat. The flooding water destroys houses, trees, boats, piers, even the heavy appliances and furniture inside our flooded homes. The damage one is left with is unbelievable and very depressing after you see your beautiful items destroyed from the high levels of mud and water left inside your house. But, life goes on, and you start repairing and replacing the damage only to have it all damaged again and again by more floods. You thank the Good Lord that He spared your family, pets and yourself. Material things can be replaced, but a life cannot be.

Book excerpt: The best thing a Father can do for his children, is love their mother. Our Dad did just that for 61 years before our Mother's death in 2008. They raised six of us during their life together. Since Mom's death our Dad has done some writing about his life. The document he has produced is what I am using as a guide to record and publish the story of his life and our family. My sister Patricia took the time to type most of Dad's memoir. If Dad and Patty had not put in all that effort this book would not have been written.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Woman, like man, should be freely permitted to do whatever she can do well." So said Frances E. Willard, who lived her life in the firm belief of this principle and who was instrumental in the passage of two amendments to the U.S. Constitution. A passionate advocate for women's rights, prohibition, and underprivileged people, she was devoted to making federal aid to education, free school lunches, unions, the eight-hour work day, work relief for the poor, municipal sanitation and boards of health, national transportation, anti-rape laws, and protections against child abuse a reality. This long-forgotten and out-of-print book is available for the first time for e-readers. In Willard's own words she describes her life as an educator, temperance reformer, and suffragist. She was an educator and later president of the Women's Christian Temperance Union She traveled extensively and even climbed the Great Pyramid in Egypt. Her sexual orientation is still debated today but she states in this volume: "The loves of women for each other grow more numerous each day and I have pondered much why these things were. That so little should be said about them surprises me, for they are everywhere... In these days when any capable and careful woman can honorably earn her own support, there is no village that has not its examples of 'two hearts in counsel,' both of which are feminine." She had many passionate attachments to other women and she discusses this in her book. Willard was the first woman whose statue was included in the Statuary Hall of the United States Capitol building. Be sure to LOOK INSIDE or download a sample.

And yes, you might say we have found one another, and I think we all know what a stray animal means and how they live. If anyone has a heart, then no animal should be put out in the streets to get by the best they can. But there are people out there. These babies were born in the bean and cornfields. The three have survived on their own and have not been touched by human hands till we found one another. We both are very blessed to have them come our way. We will continue to care for them and laugh many, many times a day because of them. We love them so much, and they have truly enlightened us in more ways than I could begin to say.
