Based on MRI data sets the Boundary Element Method was used to create tailored multicompartment models of the human thorax which were used to solve the forward problem of magnetocardiography. The ability of the proposed method was demonstrated for the localization of a single current dipole as an example of a focal source. By means of introducing small shiftings to all reconstruction dipoles during linear estimation solution as well as performing a successive focussing strategy ignoring places without significant electrical activity the method could easily be extended to the reconstruction of real 3D sources. Based on a special minimum-norm solution the source volume can be estimated applying a finite element approximation using cube elements. The size of an extended current source can be estimated by superimposing the reconstructed dipoles to an equivalent dipole and comparing the corresponding volume with the sphere which would be related to the equivalent dipole. The deviation of these volumes can be taken as a criterion for non-dipolarity of sources.

Design / Methodology / Approach The correlation to previous work was critically addressed with a focal point set on relationship, and e-marketing approaches and strategies, whilst highlighting the potential of an utilisation of virtual worlds / communities. The methodological approach was of an inductive philosophy by gathering information about Second Life from a corporate and an individual point of view. This took the form of a self-administered Internetmediated questionnaire, a semi-structured telephone interview and a participant observation. Findings Through a conceptual analysis of the virtual community of Second Life in terms of exploring reasons for participation and benefits received from an immersion into Second Life, the research study indicated that corporate involvement in this innovative environment can offer marketers with opportunities to establish relationships to existing and potential network constituents. Research Limitations / Implications This marketing research study identified limitations due to its topical nature, as the number of research publications is limited with regards to the momentum of Second Life’s innovative virtual 3-D environment and hence, research in this arena is only just emerging and has not been empirically tested. The evolving virtual world environment along with the possible necessity for marketers to both establish a presence and demonstrate innovative marketing approaches to capture a tech-savvy audience, identify the implications for this dissertation.

But this report addresses the growing public concern at the Internet's dark side: the easy availability of hardcore pornography, which people may find offensive, the uploading by ordinary people of film of real fights, bullying or alleged rape, or the setting up of websites encouraging others to follow extreme diets, or self-harm, or even commit suicide. In particular, there is increasing anxiety among parents about the use of social networking sites and chatrooms for grooming and sexual predation. The Committee welcomes the Government-commissioned report by Dr Tanya Byron on the risks posed by the Internet to children, and agrees that a UK Council for Child Internet Safety should be established. Sites which host user-generated content-typically photos and videos uploaded by members of the public-have taken some steps to set minimum standards for that content. The Committee recommends that proactive review of content should be standard practice for such sites, and calls for provision of high profile facilities for reporting abuse or unwelcome behaviour directly to law enforcement and support organisations. There is a distinct issue about labelling of video games to indicate the nature of their content. Two systems currently exist side by side: the industry awards its own ratings, and the British Board of Film Classification awards classifications to a small number of games which feature content unsuitable for children. The dual system is confusing, and BBFC should have responsibility for rating games with content appropriate for adults or teenagers.
