When small-town college teacher Fae Nelson finds her pesky neighbor, Lani Pochard, dead in a ditch, Fae's latest vision has come true. Lani's demise, caused by an unfortunate combination of alcohol, Boozabuse, and mud is officially ruled an accidental death. Fae sees things differently, in part because her neighbor continues to haunt her now, from the other side. Fae knows Lani is trying to tell her something. Even Gwen Blackwaters, the experienced intuitive whom Fae adopts as her psychic sponsor, cannot find the message in the madness. Yet, Lani's eerie interference compels Fae to examine her own ambivalent attitude toward her paranormal abilities. So begins a journey of the soul and an investigation into Lani's murder. But, as she fills in the outlines of Lani's bizarre life, more and more suspects appear: a despicable boyfriend, two discarded husbands, three disconnected children, and a number of second-degree contenders. All with stories of a Lani so malicious, Fae wonders "Who didn't have a motive to kill her?" The slings and arrows of outrageous suspicion shoot every which way, while the haunting escalates until Fae's very life is at stake. The reluctant psychic sees that she truly does need all her six senses to discover who served her neighbor that last lethal cocktail. She must send Lani a clear message "Get an afterlife!"The reader may ask, "Is this real or is it seance fiction?" The answer is both. I See A Red Door is based on the author's own paranormal experiences. ABOUT THE AUTHOR Ayna Meppelink is an editor, translator, and teacher.
