I am a self-taught composer and musician and have written many classical and non-classical works, songs and a full scale music drama called, “So I AM Born”. My life has always lived by the expressions of my heart, to seek the truth of me. Wherever life has led me, I have always believed that “The Journey is the Destination”. This is a story of love that can’t let go and the reason why. A heart searching for purpose and identity. The torment and torture of the reality of one’s perception, in search of Love. Fear of new beginnings and cheated destiny, locked in the grey mist of the mind. Betrayal through fear and hope. Painful truthful realities faced, and the courage it sometimes takes to realize, ‘ To thy self be true... Always.’ D.B. Moran.

Book excerpt: Winner of the 1999 Agnes Lynch Starrett Poetry Prize The thirty-three narrative, linguistically-adventurous poems in She Didn't Mean To Do It range freely among styles and voices. Examining human emotions and behavior in all their contradictions, Daisy Fried turns a perceptive eye on those around her. Fried integrates metaphoric flights and idiosyncratic narrative, surprising us with the details—"I saw that the wisteria/in dusk its same color hung (heavier than/the breasts of stabbed and stabber ever would be)"—while her characters traipse across lines and pages. These are poems about human relationships, mostly romantic and sexual. They're also about jobs and work: urban, action-packed and socially aware.

Harper is carrying somebody’s seed and until she finds out whose seed it is she plans to have a little fun with both her options. Either Mingo or his son Cypress could be the father to Harper’s baby. Mingo is the more aggressive of the two. He takes charge like a real man should. He would be great with a son. Cypress is more caring and would make a perfect father to a daughter. The problems with both scenarios are named Cynthia and Nicole, neither will be happy if the men they love fathered Harper’s baby. Cypress’s ex-girlfriend Kameron is over the drama that surrounds him. She has decided she wants a life with Joshua and quickly accepts his marriage proposal. They may be in love but their parents are not in love with the idea of them entering into an interracial marriage. Both Kameron and Josh think all they need is love to survive, but their love for each other is quickly tested by circumstances beyond their control. Didn’t Mean to Love Him: The Conclusion answers all the questions you have about Cypress, Mingo, Kameron, and Harper. These twisted relationships shall come to pass but not before a whole lot of heartbreak and happenstance.

This person has raised the tasteless, thoughtless, tactless, or otherwise terrifically awful remark into an art form. If there is a wrong place, a wrong time, or a wrong person to whom to say anything, they're on the spot and on the ready. And though we can joke about it (at the right time, of course), careless speech is no laughing matter. Words really can hurt-not only the person at whom they're aimed but the speaker, too, whose relationship, career, and social prospects can all suffer as a result of unmindful speech. Fortunately, this book can help even the most scandalous mis-speaker. It outlines six simple questions, called Q-Points (Questions of Positive Thinking and Speaking) for readers to keep in mind before they speak. Who am I speaking to? What am I not seeing? Where will my words get me? How will the other person react to my words? When do I say it? And why must I say it at all? By coming up with an answer in the moment before speaking, anyone can start to avoid terrible slips in speaking judgment that can hurt themselves and others. But I Didn't Mean That! analyzes the most problematic speaking situations to show how the Q-points can be used to start conversing with empathy, confidence, and unimpeachable tact.

Cypress’s father, Mingo, has just reinserted himself into the equation and wants to do whatever he needs to do to keep both Cypress and Cynthia out of jail. The one thing he hadn’t counted on was crazy Harper Madison and her obsession with Cypress. Harper’s goal is to derail Cypress and his desire for both Kameron and Nicole. She wants Cypress, and she is prepared to do whatever she needs to do to make that happen. Didn’t Mean to Love Him Part 2 brings you the culmination of what happens when you mix a whole lot of deception with a little bit of crazy.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This critical study of American detective fiction examines the history and development of the detective genre through the lens of psychoanalysis. Applying the ideas of French psychoanalyst Jacques Lacan, the author identifies and categorizes popular works according to the fictional protagonist's hysteria, obsessive neurosis, perversion or psychosis. The first chapter identifies several instances of hysteria within the fiction of two of the genre's pioneers, Edgar Allan Poe and Arthur Conan Doyle. Chapter Two traces the development of the hard-boiled detective's code of honor through the works of Dashiell Hammett, Raymond Chandler, and Mickey Spillane, identifying the often-paradoxical nature of this code and its origins in obsessive neurosis. Chapter Three analyzes the anti-detective fiction of Philip K. Dick in terms of paranoid psychosis, and the final chapter returns to the question of hysteria, taking up the female hard-boiled detectives of author Marcia Muller.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Getting rid of an article of trash can be difficult, there never seems to be any rubbish bins around when you need one. However this is a simple chore compared to the frustration and complexity of disposing a friend’s dead body. "I Didn’t Mean to Kill My Best Friend" is a novella about two friends and their quest to dispose of a mutual friend’s body. Throughout the night, the duo is faced with various obstacles that prevent them from accomplishing their goal. "I Didn’t Mean to Kill My Best Friend" is a comedic, entertaining look at the difficulties associated with this grim task. *Featured ebook at the San Diego Comic-Con 2012 Word count: 12,172 - Professionally formatted and edited. What people are saying about this book: Rebecca Hurst (5 out of 5) - U.K. Brilliantly funny! A wonderful debut, sharp and witty with a distinctly fresh writing style and new approach to the genre. This novella, 'I didn't mean to kill my best friend' is an intelligent investigation of the relationship of two friends, and uses the murder of their mutual friend to explore how little things about your friendship can lead to the stickiest of ends! What I loved most about this book was the visual elements, and I could very well imagine it as a manga, illustrated novel and film. ------------ Defaye (5 out of 5) - U.K. Exciting, Funny, Thrilling. A really entertaining short story. Read it in one session and was glued to it. If you like a bit of a thrill, the plot is bang on. The story revolves around two friends trying to ditch their murdered, mutual friend. Coupled along the way with satirical humour and moments of suspense. Can already imagine a film adaptation. ------------ Sheila Deeth (4 out of 5) - U.S. Grim, humorous, odd and a fun short tale. Two Steves make the beginning of this short story a little confusing, but the confusion's part of the tale so it has to be excused. The characters aren't particularly pleasing, but their dilemma evokes memories of comedy movies and there's an enjoyable inevitability to their inept efforts to both salve their consciences and get rid of the best friend / worst enemy's body. While the conclusion is bounded by odd coincidence it has a certain logic of its own, preset by the story's direction. And there are some cleverly amusing discussions on the nature of life, death and relationships. The author has a nice touch with dialog and a casual off-beat humor. And the first person narration, mixing present tense thoughts with action in past tense, works surprisingly well. Short, definitely not sweet, but entertaining in a grimly satirical way.
