Book Synopsis Hypnosis Without Trance by : James Tripp
Download or read book Hypnosis Without Trance written by James Tripp and published by Real Magic Media. This book was released on 2021-04-21 with total page 256 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "This material has taught me more about hypnosis than my previous 20 years in psychology and 4 years as a practicing Hypnotherapist [and] should be a standard requirement for ANY Hypnotist wanting to bring about real change. If you don't learn this stuff you will be left behind!" - Michael Skirving, DNLP, DHyp, LAPHP Hypnosis: is it actually real? What causes its strange effects? And can everyone easily learn to do it? Since the seminal work of hypnosis pioneer James Braid in the 1840s, the dominant model for understanding hypnosis has been that it is simply a special state (popularly referred to as 'hypnotic trance') that renders people unusually responsive to suggestion. By this model, the practice of hypnosis is simply that of the induction of hypnotic trance, followed by the delivery of suggestions for the desired results. By summer 2008, James Tripp had been working professionally with hypnosis for 6 years. Whilst he had used what he had learned to great effect with his clients (from manual therapy to coaching and changework), it had become increasingly clear that something was amiss with the traditional trance model - instead of his clients responding to suggestion as a result of entering 'trance', they were apparently entering 'trance' as a result of being given suggestions. The cart seemed very much before the horse. This led Tripp to embark on a mission to break down and rebuild hypnosis and suggestion work; to uncover how it really worked and also to see if it could be done more effectively and efficiently. To find a suitable laboratory for his research he stepped out of his hypnotherapy office and onto the streets of London. Across the next year he developed consistent methods for the effective evocation of classic hypnotic phenomena without using trance inductions; simply structuring suggestions and making requests that worked with people's everyday cognitive faculties to create mind-bending results. In 2009 Tripp started demonstrating his work and sharing his ideas via the Hypnosis Without Trance blog. The content was divisive to say the least - while some traditionalists were upset or angered by the assertions, many others were liberated and empowered by the material. "Hypnosis Without Trance has blown my mind and completely changed my thoughts on how hypnosis works with my clients - it's clicked together a lot of gaps that my traditional learning couldn't explain..." - Michelle Marsh, (Hypnotherapist) "I think this is the most clear and understanding approach I have ever seen or read. Thanks a lot!" - Raul de la Horra (Hypnotist, Psychotherapist and Magician) This book represents the culmination of that period of experimentation and rebuilding, presenting a new central model for hypnosis (The Hypnotic Loop). Further to this it extensively unpacks the tools, tactics and psychological subtleties required for the effective facilitation of powerful hypnotic experiences. Hypnosis Without Trance is for you if you are looking to understand how hypnosis really works, and how you might better facilitate it. Whether you are a student of hypnosis, established practitioner or curious spectator, its clear exposition will significantly deepen your understanding and grasp of this fascinating craft. "Definitely the next important big step for me - a practicing hypnotherapist for over 20 years. Absolutely brilliant! Thank you!!"- Richard Whitehurst (Hypnotherapist) "I gained more understanding of how hypnosis really works from HWT than anywhere else, and think it's a must for anyone serious about hypnosis." - Lazarus Stone (Professional Mentalist) "Using this approach I have gained more confidence and I am far more relaxed as a hypnotist than any time in the past 20 years." - Gary Plumridge (Hypnotherapist)

Book Synopsis Methodologies of Hypnosis (Psychology Revivals) by : Peter W. Sheehan
Download or read book Methodologies of Hypnosis (Psychology Revivals) written by Peter W. Sheehan and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2015-03-27 with total page 348 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Originally published in 1976, this title looks closely at the current nature of controls in hypnosis research at the time and tries to assess what they contributed to our knowledge of hypnosis. Specifically, the book analyses the contributions to our understanding of hypnotic phenomena offered by the application of six contemporary methodologies, or paradigms, of hypnosis. The primary concern is with those paradigms that are experimental, rather than clinical, in orientation, and which had emerged over the previous decade as coherent programmatic collections of procedural strategies, all of them associated with distinct and important views of how hypnotic behaviour can best be explained.

Book Synopsis Advanced Techniques of Hypnosis by : Melvin Powers
Download or read book Advanced Techniques of Hypnosis written by Melvin Powers and published by Pickle Partners Publishing. This book was released on 2018-12-01 with total page 170 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There have been many books written on the therapeutic value of hypnosis. Numerous volumes have dealt with its history, and many more have been concerned with its various phenomena. There has, however, been comparatively little written about the actual technique of inducing the hypnotic state. Since this phase of hypnosis has been so woefully neglected, we have not had the rapid technical development our vital science so rightfully deserves. This volume is designed to remedy that lack. This book is dedicated to those who aspire to a fuller understanding of hypnotic procedures. It is my purpose to show you, the reader, how to develop any individual into a receptive, hypnotic subject, and to give you the necessary understanding and knowledge required to achieve this end. You will also be instructed in the use of my original techniques, which have proven to be so wonderfully effective in my long experience as a professional hypnotist. A careful reading of the book will not only be rewarding because of the wealth of information contained in it, but will also assure the reader maximum professional efficiency in the exciting, and fascinating practice of professional hypnosis.

It's pure genius." -Joseph Sugarman, author of Triggers "I've read countless book on persuasion, but none come close to this one in showing you exactly how to put your readers into a buying trance that makes whatever you are offering them irresistible." -David Garfinkel, author of Advertising Headlines That Make You Rich "I am a huge fan of Vitale and his books, and Hypnotic Writing (first published more than twenty years ago), is my absolute favorite. Updated with additional text and fresh examples, especially from e-mail writing, Joe's specialty, Hypnotic Writing is the most important book on copywriting (yes, that's really what it is about) to be published in this century. Read it. It will make you a better copywriter, period." -Bob Bly, copywriter and author of The Copywriter's Handbook "I couldn't put this book down. It's eye opening and filled with genuinely new stuff about writing and persuading better. And it communicates it brilliantly and teaches it brilliantly-exemplifying the techniques by the writing of the book itself as you go along." -David Deutsch, author of Think Inside the Box, www.thinkinginside.com "Hypnotic Writing is packed with so much great information it's hard to know where to start. The insights, strategies, and tactics in the book are easy to apply yet deliver one heck of a punch. And in case there's any question how to apply them, the before-and-after case studies drive the points home like nothing else can. Hypnotic Writing is not just about hypnotic writing. It is hypnotic writing. On the count of three, you're going to love it. Just watch and see." -Blair Warren, author of The Forbidden Keys to Persuasion

Book Synopsis Solution-oriented Hypnosis by : Bill O'Hanlon
Download or read book Solution-oriented Hypnosis written by Bill O'Hanlon and published by W W Norton & Company Incorporated. This book was released on 1992 with total page 209 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Demystification" has become an intellectual buzzword; finally, we have a book that accurately fits the definition. When most people think of "hypnosis" they imagine either a sinister, Mesmer-esque figure declaring to his subject "you're getting sleepier and sleepier ... your eyelids are getting heavier and heavier, you vill go into trance", or an entertainer compelling a subject to "cluck like a chicken". In this comprehensive introduction to hypnosis based on the pioneering work of Milton H. Erickson, William O'Hanlon demystifies the concept of "trance" and "hypnosis". He goes to the heart of the subject by answering the question: "What is trance?" But be forewarned: This is no dry, formal discourse on trance induction techniques. Rather, readers are invited to share the experience of attending one of O'Hanlon's lively and popular two-day workshops on Ericksonian hypnosis. In an energetic and often humorous manner, O'Hanlon takes his audience through the basics of trance induction and explains the how, what, and why of hypnosis. Readers familiar with Erickson's work will be delighted at the author's Class of Problems/Class of Solutions approach, which deconstructs Ericksonian interventions and provides a powerful new tool in directing clients toward solution. Each individual element of trance induction is explained clearly, through the use of case examples, demonstrations, and audience participation exercises. The book's gradual approach takes readers through the hypnotic process in a step-by-step fashion, increasing their skills and confidence. An integral part of the presentation is O'Hanlon's belief in the importance of respect for client-therapist boundaries and for individualdifferences with regard to experience with and reaction to trance. This sensibility pertains especially to the section on survivors of sexual abuse, but also informs all of his trance work. In the end, it is this respect for others that makes solution-oriented hypnosis and therapy so effective and successful.
Book Synopsis Modern Trends in Hypnosis by : David Waxman
Download or read book Modern Trends in Hypnosis written by David Waxman and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 513 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The 9th International Congress of Hypnosis and Psychosomatic Medicine expresses the continuity in the effort to gain scientific knowledge of hypnosis and scientific status for it, ever since the 1st International Congress for Experimental and Therapeutic Hypnotism was held in Paris in 1889, attended by many of the best-remembered psychiatrists and psychologists of the day - men such as Babinski, Bernheim, Binet, Delboeuf, Freud, James, Lombroso, F. W. H. Myers, Ribot, and many others. The continuity was broken by the period of reduced interest in hypnosis between the time of the 2nd Inter national Congress for Hypnotism in Paris in 1900, and the revival of interest shown by the 3rd International Congress for Hypnosis and Psychosomatic Medicine in Paris in 1965. Since then, the Congresses have met more regularly, making the one of which this is the report, the 9th. The programs of these Congresses have become increasingly rich through the years, with many of the older problems still with us but now studied more dispassionately in the light of new knowledge and new scientific methods in the design of investigations and the vali dation of scientific findings.
