Es wird wie folgt vorgegangen: Kapitel 2 widmet sich dem Phänomen Homosexualität, bemüht sich im Unterkapitel 2.1 um eine Definition des Terminus, sowie seiner artverwandten Begriffe, wobei hier Forschungspositionen von Klimmert, Ehlert, Funk, Stecklina, Sullivan, Hertling, Rauchfleisch, Ferdinand, Pretzel, Seeck, Wensierski, Lübeck und Hirschfeld herangezogen werden. Das Unterkapitel 2.2 versucht die Dimensionen von Homosexualität wiederzugeben, also die Pluralität dieses Phänomens zu erklären, wobei neben den bereits im Unterkapitel 2.1 genannten Positionen weiters die Forschungsergebnisse von Aigner, Rapp, Volkmar, Bell, Weinberg, Hammersmith in die Diskussion mit einbezogen werden. Kapitel 3 vergleicht anschließend die Lebenssituation türkischer sowie österreichischer Homosexueller, wobei eine Definition des Terminus Diskriminierung nach Schmidt und Sielert in das Unterkapitel 3.1 überführt, in welchem der Frage nach kulturspezifischer Konstruktion von Homosexualität nachgegangen, beziehungsweise das Phänomen der Vorverurteilung beleuchtet wird, ehe auf das differente Sozialverhalten türkischer Männer, unter Berücksichtigung der Forschungspositionen von Plöderl, Kulbe, Heinemann, Breuer, Steinhilber, Tomanbay, Moir und Katsikaris, eingegangen wird. Unterkapitel 3.2 beleuchtet den religiösen Hintergrund dieser zwei differenten Gesellschaften, orientiert sich dabei stark an deren heiligen Schriften, dem Islam und der Bibel, unter Hinzuziehung der Ergebnisse von Katsikaris, Kinsey, Groß, Müller, Steinmetzer, Steinbach, Ende, Johler, Matter, Zinn-Thomas, Paret, Spuler-Stegemann, Kasim, Simon, Brooks, Ismail und Krohn. Unterkapitel 3.3 fragt nach rechtlichen Bedingungen innerhalb der jeweiligen Gesellschaft, wobei sich einerseits der Möglichkeit zur Eheschließung gewidmet, sowie andererseits der Status von Homosexualität auf Legalität hin überprüft wird. Weiters fragt das Kapitel nach Möglichkeit zum legalen Zusammenschluss von Interessensverbänden. Als Forschungspositionen sind hier zu nennen: Spuler-Stegemann, Finkel, Katsikaris, Ilkkaracan, West, Green, Wirth, Broda, Holzleithner, Heissl, Sonntag, Kolba, Resetarits, Weiser, Plöderl und Stewart.

Durch ein nicht minder ausführliches Register lassen sich wichtige Personen und Schlagworte schnell und unkompliziert lokalisieren. Within those changes, reforms do not go ‘as planned’ but, as is always the case with processes of rationali- tion, have a series of unintended effects. At the same time it becomes incre- ingly clear who in this process are the winners and who are the losers, although this is still subject to fluctuation and change. This can be illustrated by two - amples from current events: Where the range of taught courses is concerned, as part of the Bologna Process the new structuring of student study paths and their organisation is aimed at unifying the European area of science to ensure a study that is equally permissive and efficient. However, it is to be deplored that the mobility of s- dents has become more restricted because of an increasing specialisation in the available study paths. Also, bachelor degrees do not meet with the anticipated high response from the labour market in all countries, so that the master’s degree is becoming more or less a ‘must’, while at the same time the number of study places on master’s courses is limited. Instead of the intended reduction in the duration of study time in comparison to the previous German ‘Magister’ and ‘Diplom’, rather a prolongation in the duration of studies has been recorded.

Analyzing ancient and modern texts, he recovers the studious and gentle rabbi as the male ideal and the prime object of the female desire in traditional Jewish society. Challenging those who view the "feminized Jew" as a pathological product of the Diaspora or a figment of anti-Semitic imagination, Boyarin finds the origins of the rabbinic model of masculinity in the Talmud. The book provides an unrelenting critique of the oppression of women in rabbinic society, while also arguing that later European bourgeois society disempowered women even further. Boyarin also analyzes the self-transformation of three iconic Viennese modern Jews: Sigmund Freud, Theodor Herzl, and Bertha Pappenheim (Anna O.). Pappenheim is Boyarin's hero: it is she who provides him with a model for a militant feminist, anti-homophobic transformation of Orthodox Jewish society today.
