Romeyn, Dear Pastor - The undersigned were appointed a Committee to convey to you the unanimous thanks of the Consistory, for the very able and interesting Historical Discourse delivered at the re-dedication of the First Reformed Church, May 2, 1869, and to request that you will allow them the privilege of having it published. W.Harris, ) W. Williams, Committee. R. W. Farr.) My original purpose was to ignore entirely the Civil History of this locality, and the Discourse as delivered was, as far as possible, a mere history of the Church organization.
