Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Being hurt and heartbroken is a sad reality for most of us. But I'm so thankful for this treasure of a book written by my friend Suzie Eller. Page by page, Suzie will help you understand how God's truth can heal your pain so you can move forward whole and healed. - Lysa TerKeurst, New York Times Bestselling Author and President of Proverbs 31 Ministries Brokenness happens. Tragedy, sin or the painful choices of others all have the ability to disrupt an otherwise contented life. And as a result of our heartache, we often attempt to fix our own brokenness—with disastrous results. If you've tried to heal, but keep ending up in the same place—whether the battle is in your heart or out in the open where everyone can see—The Mended Heart is for you. In this book, author Suzanne Eller tells it like it is: people throw quick fixes at you, or tell you to pull yourself up by your bootstraps (whatever that means). More important, though, she shares the powerful truth of Jesus' mission as outlined in Luke 4:18-21: He came to set free all those who are oppressed and in need of mending. You don’t have to fix yourself—Jesus loves you right where you are. In fact, He has already completed the work that needs to be done. The Mended Heart will encourage you to trust Him, to give and receive grace, and to move ahead even stronger than before … even if others don’t move with you.

Journey with Kathie Lee Gifford and Messianic Rabbi Jason Sobel into Israel and explore the deep roots of the Christian faith. As a lifelong student of Scripture, Kathie Lee Gifford has always desired a deeper understanding of God’s Word and a deeper knowledge of God Himself. But it wasn’t until she began studying the biblical texts in their original Hebrew and Greek—along with actually hiking the ancient paths of Israel—that she found the fulfillment of those desires. Now you can walk with Kathie on a journey through the spiritual foundations of her faith: The Rock (Jesus Christ): Hear directly from Kathie about her life-changing and ever-deepening connection with Jesus, the Lover of her soul. The Road (Israel): Explore dozens of ancient landmarks and historical sites from Israel, the promised land of God’s covenant. The Rabbi (God’s Word): Go beyond a Sunday-school approach to the Bible by digging into the original languages and deeper meanings of the Holy Scriptures. As you journey through The Rock, the Road, and the Rabbi, you’ll also find additional content from Messianic Rabbi Jason Sobel throughout the book. Jason’s insight into the Hebrew language, culture, and heritage will open your eyes to the Bible like never before. Begin your journey toward a deeper faith through The Rock, the Road, and the Rabbi.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Bestselling author, cofounder of Girlfriends in God, and writer for Proverbs 31 Ministries Sharon Jaynes reveals the secret to living a better story: understanding that the worst parts of our past are the very things God uses most. Many people don't like the story God is writing in their lives. The mistakes, failures, tragedies, and circumstances outside of our control linger in our minds and hold us back. How do we come to grips with the pieces of our stories that we wish weren't there? How do we silence the pain of what has been done to us and the shame of what we've allowed to be done through us? In When You Don't Like Your Story, Bible teacher Sharon Jaynes shows us how God untangles our most painful emotions with the fingers of grace, putting his redemption on display. In the hardest parts of our narratives, we get to see God's greatest work--and this changes the ending of our stories. As we overcome shame, offer forgiveness, and use our stories to help others, we find freedom from the past and learn to live in the restoration of the present.

Having no adult in his life to teach him that, with a changed heart, no sin is unforgivable, he turned his guilt into a shield... ...until Kasey Delaney bounded into his world, bubbling with life and overflowing with enthusiasm for God's love. Months into their whirlwind courtship, Adam still hadn't revealed his shameful secret. But could he bear the loneliness if Kasey couldn't set aside her pain and anger and see him for the man he had become, rather than the boy he had been? Or would God, in His infinite wisdom, give Adam the strength to unburden his heart and rejoice in the healing power of love?

Book excerpt: I am now an Author of two books: Time to Come Home and A Plan For You, by God's amazing grace. And soon, I will begin my third book: My Father's Favorite. God has a continuous plan for me for as long as I live on earth. I've had good roads, bad roads and I can say with all honesty - I have been there and done that. No matter the bumps and grinds in the ground that I've endured; it all comes out in the washing of the blood of Jesus. He has been and is there to help me rise above and go through turmoil and troubles. Being a child of God doesn't exempt us from problems. There's going to be battles and lessons in the battles. In the midst of my sufferings, I kept on reaching for and running back to Jesus. He was always faithful to give me new strength in Him at every reaching. And through every storm I have and will endure, I am becoming a reflection of Jesus and getting closer to my eternal home.

Book excerpt: Mary’s Journal is a journey of Jesus Christ’s life, told from the perspective of his mother, Mary, which captures some of the deep, intimate feelings of her heart. The writing of this book has been a spiritual journey for me. I truly feel blessed that I was inspired to write of what Mary must have felt and experienced being the mother of the Savior of the world. With the illustrations I wanted to symbolize that through our Savior’s healing hands we are made whole. I hope that as you read this book you will feel His infinite love and atoning sacrifice, and know that after the tribulations and heartaches of this world there is peace and joy, which can only be found through Jesus Christ. I’m grateful for the life that Mary led and her worthiness to raise the Son of God. I echo Mary’s testimony that Jesus Christ lives and loves each one of us. ~Wendy K. Galloway

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mired inside its rather archaic comprehension as a medical phenomenon, disability, for a long time now, has been ignored as a marker of identity. The world has only been busy in rectifying the absences that have, ostensibly “dis-abled”, rather than accepting such impaired existences as human beings themselves. The volume intends to reclaim the representations of disability and present narratives that do not just use the figure of the disabled as a means to an end. It includes translation of 17 disability centric short stories from multiple Indian languages into English. Further it uses these stories as illustration to test and develop new theoretical formulations concerning disability and the disabled. What grants the proposed work its uniqueness is, in other words, not only the translations of the erstwhile lost stories of disability but also the use of these stories towards the formation of theoretical paradigms to move forward the project of Disability Studies. The volume shows, interrogates and problematizes the affect that impairment and disability has on those who are “abled”. It presents how the “normal” human being approaches the disabled and interacts with them. All in all, owing to its academic engagement with disability as a phenomenon and within a narrative, this work intends to take the role of a resource book that will find ready use in the newly emergent multidisciplinary field of Disability Studies and will be of great significance to India and the world at large especially since Literature has a major role to play in this field. Not only, then, does it present different disability narratives to the world but, through their academic interrogation, also allows researchers and academics, especially in India, to form the theoretical enhancements in Disability Studies that both our country and the world desperately require.
