Book Synopsis Metal Deformation Processing by : F. W. Boulger
Download or read book Metal Deformation Processing written by F. W. Boulger and published by . This book was released on 1964 with total page 182 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As part of the Metalworking Process and Equipment Program, a survey was conducted to collect and summarize information on deformation characteristics of metals and their effect on processing operations. This report presents information obtained from reports on Governmentsponsored work and from articles in technical publications. The report covers eight subjects: extrusion, forging, rolling, thermal mechanical variables affecting the properties of refractory metals and alloys, development of preferred orientations, anisotropy of strength and ductility, high-strain-rate deformation, and strain aging. In order to be useful to engineering students and production engineers the topics are treated in two ways. Generalized discussions of common processes point out why specific variables must be modified in order to deform certain types of metals satisfactorily. When practical, data on the more-difficultto-form metals are used to illustrate the principles, limitations, and effects of the processes. The objective is to help the non-specialist recognize the implications of specific findings and to apply them to specific operations. (Author).
Book Synopsis Sheet Metal Forming by : Taylan Altan
Download or read book Sheet Metal Forming written by Taylan Altan and published by ASM International. This book was released on 2012 with total page 311 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Descripción del editor: "heet forming fundamentals are thoroughly addressed in this comprehensive reference for the practical and efficient use of sheet forming technologies. The principle variables of sheet forming-including the interactions between variables-are clearly explained, as a basic foundation for the most effective use of computer aided modeling in process and die design.Topics include stress analysis, formability criteria, tooling, and materials for sheet forming. The book also covers the latest developments in sheet metal forming technology, including servo-drive presses and their applications, and advanced cushion systems in mechanical and hydraulic presses." Download or read book Modern Manufacturing Processes written by Muammer Koç and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2019-09-04 with total page 549 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Provides an in-depth understanding of the fundamentals of a wide range of state-of-the-art materials manufacturing processes Modern manufacturing is at the core of industrial production from base materials to semi-finished goods and final products. Over the last decade, a variety of innovative methods have been developed that allow for manufacturing processes that are more versatile, less energy-consuming, and more environmentally friendly. This book provides readers with everything they need to know about the many manufacturing processes of today. Presented in three parts, Modern Manufacturing Processes starts by covering advanced manufacturing forming processes such as sheet forming, powder forming, and injection molding. The second part deals with thermal and energy-assisted manufacturing processes, including warm and hot hydrostamping. It also covers high speed forming (electromagnetic, electrohydraulic, and explosive forming). The third part reviews advanced material removal process like advanced grinding, electro-discharge machining, micro milling, and laser machining. It also looks at high speed and hard machining and examines advances in material modeling for manufacturing analysis and simulation. Offers a comprehensive overview of advanced materials manufacturing processes Provides practice-oriented information to help readers find the right manufacturing methods for the intended applications Highly relevant for material scientists and engineers in industry Modern Manufacturing Processes is an ideal book for practitioners and researchers in materials and mechanical engineering.

Book excerpt: This practical and comprehensive reference gives the latest developments on the design of sheet forming operations, equipment, tooling, and process modeling. Individual chapters cover all major sheet forming processes such as blanking, bending, deep drawing, and more. Process modeling using finite element analysis is described in one chapter and discussed in all appropriate chapters. Other chapters cover sensors and die materials, which are critical for practical sheet forming applications. Other topics include relatively new technologies, such as warm forming of magnesium and aluminum alloys, forming of advanced high-strength steels (AHSS), and hot stamping. Chapters also address special sheet forming operations, like spinning, incremental forming, and mechanical joining, and processes related to sheet forming, such as sheet and tube hydroforming, roll forming, and high-velocity forming.
