Book excerpt: Discovering Your Inner Beauty This book is a pilgrimage in search of that indefinable something that all of us, at some time or other in our lives, feel is missing – what Osho describes as our “hidden splendor.” “You go on missing something – something that you had known but you have forgotten – a faded memory, a lost remembrance. And the gap is not only a gap, it is a wound. It hurts, because you had brought something with your birth into the world and you have lost it somewhere. And it seems impossible to find it in this crowded universe. But unless it happens, your life has been in vain, a misery, a suffering, a futile longing, a meaningless desire, a thirst that you know cannot be quenched.” — Osho

This book was released on 2008-08 with total page 49 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Utah’s coal industry experienced a difficult and tragic year in 2007. The terrible circumstances surrounding the unexpected closure of the Crandall Canyon mine, followed by the idling of the Aberdeen mine, resulted in a 7.1% decrease in Utah coal production to a total of 24.3 million short tons. These closures also resulted in a 5.3% loss in mine-related employment. In addition, difficult mining conditions at Canyon Fuel Company’s SUFCO and Dugout Canyon mines contributed to production declines. On the brighter side, Canyon Fuel’s Skyline mine, with a full-year of longwall operation, increased its production by 45.4% and UtahAmerican’s West Ridge mine increased its production by 34.3%. Also noteworthy are record production for both Carbon County and State lands, and a 20-year high in the average price for a short ton of Utah coal: $25.18. Distribution of Utah coal decreased slightly in 2007 to 24.5 million short tons, while out-of-state coal imports hit a 20-year low of only 1.5 million tons.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The bold thesis of Canonical Theism is that the good and life-giving Holy Spirit has equipped the church not only with a canon of scripture but also with an abundant canonical heritage of materials, persons, and practices. However, much of the latter has been ignored or cast aside. The authors call for the retrieval and redeployment of the full range of this rich legacy. Voices from across the spectrum here chart that mine of opportunity and invite the entire church to explore the benefits of their discoveries.Ambitious in its scope and agenda, Canonical Theism offers insights that will enable the readers to discover anew the faith that has nourished converts, created saints, and upheld martyrs across the years.Contributors: William J. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Silas Pearson is looking for answers. It's been more than three years since his wife, Penelope de Silva, disappeared while working on a conservation project in Utah's red rock wilderness. Law enforcement authorities have given up hope of finding the adventurous Penelope alive. And some suggest that she may not have vanished into the desert at all, but simply left Silas for another man. Silas moves to Moab, where his wife was last seen, with one purpose: finding his wife, dead or alive. His search takes him into a spectacular wilderness of red rock canyons, soaring mesas, and vertical earth, where he must confront his failures as a husband and his guilt over not being there when Penelope needed him most. The Slickrock Paradox is the first book in the Red Rock Canyon Mysteries, a series of books that explores an iconic American landscape through an atypical anti-hero who is deeply flawed, reluctant, and yet familiar.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Riding dirt bikes solo in remote areas is not conducive to safety. The two most basic rules of safety are: don't go out alone, and always tell someone your itinerary. But most of the time, Rex Taylor rode alone. That greatly increased the danger, but simplified his logistics. And it was just not possible to tell anyone his plans, because he rarely had more than a general idea himself, of his route or destination. The risks were worth the thrill of riding a high-powered machine, across landscapes of unsurpassed natural beauty, in total isolation. He could rely on nothing but pluck, and a lot of luck. And his luck held, to an unlikely degree. A flat tire, a broken bike part, a broken body part, or running out of gas, could have meant disaster, or death. But he tried not to think about that too much.
