In all of this and then some, the Lord has been with Lee and her family, answering prayers and working almost unbelievable miracles! Excerpts from various chapters in HERE YOU GO AGAIIN, GOD! Mrs. Hanson, the medicine did not dissolve the clot in your husbands brain. I have to do surgery immediately! We may lose him, or he may be severely impaired, even with surgery, but we have to try, or hell be in a vegetative state the rest of his life! ******************************************************** So touched was Daves dad by the upturned, attentive faces before him, he almost didnt notice someone who came in late and stood alone in the back. A moment later, though, he realized the man who had just entered was the witch doctor! Dad took a deep breath and prayed for strength, as he wondered if there were men outside, ready to attack! ******************************************************** At first we were speechless! Then I cried, Mom, why didnt you ever tell us about this before? Its amazing! A miracle that the Lord let you see! You saw Jesus come to carry Dad to Heaven? Why didnt you tell us?

Book excerpt: A New York Times Notable Book A Kirkus Reviews Best Book of 2012 A bold approach to understanding the American evangelical experience from an anthropological and psychological perspective by one of the country's most prominent anthropologists. Through a series of intimate, illuminating interviews with various members of the Vineyard, an evangelical church with hundreds of congregations across the country, Tanya Luhrmann leaps into the heart of evangelical faith. Combined with scientific research that studies the effect that intensely practiced prayer can have on the mind, When God Talks Back examines how normal, sensible people—from college students to accountants to housewives, all functioning perfectly well within our society—can attest to having the signs and wonders of the supernatural become as quotidian and as ordinary as laundry. Astute, sensitive, and extraordinarily measured in its approach to the interface between science and religion, Luhrmann's book is sure to generate as much conversation as it will praise.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Suppose you could ask God any question and get an answer. What would it be? Young people all over the world have been asking those questions. So Neale Donald Walsch, author of the internationally bestselling Conversations with God series had another conversation. Conversations with God for Teens is a simple, clear, straight-to-the-point dialogue that answers teens questions about God, money, sex, love, and more. Conversations with God for Teens reads like a rap session at a church youth group, where teenagers discuss everything they ever wanted to know about life but were too afraid to ask God. Walsch acts as the verbal conduit, showing teenagers how easy it is to converse with the divine. When Claudia, age 16, from Perth, Australia, asks, "Why can't I just have sex with everybody? What's the big deal?", the answer God offers her is: "Nothing you do will ever be okay with everybody. 'Everybody' is a large word. The real question is can you have sex and have it be okay with you?" There's no doubt that the casual question-and-answer format will help make God feel welcoming and accessible to teens. Conversations with God for Teens is the perfect gift purchase for parents, grandparents, and anyone else who wants to provide accessible spiritual content for the teen(s) in their lives.

Since the very beginning, God's design for marriage has been for husbands and wives to be ambassadors of holy love to a hurting world. Still, too many couples stop short at happy and wonder why they feel unsatisfied. Rather than "you and me against the world," God calls each couple to the rich and meaningful mission of "you and me for the world." In Marriage After God, Aaron and Jennifer Smith, popular marriage bloggers at HusbandRevolution.com and UnveiledWife.com, transparently share their own journey of turning a marriage in crisis into a marriage built on Christ's redemptive love. With fresh biblical insight and intimate stories of their own struggles and victories, this book will guide you toward a God-centered, ministry-minded, and thriving marriage. Throughout Marriage After God, you'll learn to: Discover the signature marks of a marriage after God Find principles for building an unshakable marriage foundation Let God's story take the lead in your love story Recognize the tools God has already equipped you with for a missional life together Filled with timeless wisdom, this thorough and practical book will empower you and your spouse to dream, decide, and do as you step hand in hand into God's ultimate purpose for your marriage. God has created your remarkable, romantic, and redemptive relationship to be a powerful light to a dark and hurting world. Let Marriage After God be your invitation to marriage as God intended--a life-saving, hope-inspiring, and transforming force of God's love. Praise for Marriage After God: "This book is an incredible resource for anyone trying to grow or step into a healthier and more life-giving marriage. Aaron and Jen pull no punches; are honest, raw, and authentic; and show that a marriage in pursuit of Jesus can change the world." --Jefferson Bethke, New York Times bestselling author of Jesus > Religion "There is a short list of books I'm stashing away for my three small kiddos to read when they are older--Marriage After God is one of them. Dear couples of the world, you have picked up a treasure! This book will give you clear direction to live out God's will for your marriage. There is no greater gift you can give yourselves than to run after Him together. Marriage After God will show you how!" --Lara Casey, author of Cultivate and Make It Happen

Book excerpt: Readers of Persistent Pursuit will pick up the story of Brad and Stella Crosley after they settled into their north central Iowa wooded hideaway they call Haven Acres. Their tranquility is disrupted by the nocturnal arrival of an uninvited guest. Will their marriage survive the threat of a triangular relationship as they tackle the multiple issues of another inhabitant of Haven Acres? Will their newfound faith in Christ withstand the challenges they will face? Will Stella, who previously abandoned her husband and infant son, assume the role of faithful wife and devoted mother? Find out if the Crosleys manage to achieve persuasive proof. I was delighted to find that Haven Acres was still very much alive in Persuasive Proof, the sequel to Dave Barkeys first novel Persistent Pursuit. The familiar and memorable personalities continue their adventures. Brad Crosley, principal of the local elementary school, and his wife Stella are in the process of making a comfortable Christian home for their son Gerald. The author beautifully and sensitively draws the reader into Brads struggles to balance his responsibilities among nurturing his family, running the elementary school, participating in church activities, and cultivating relationships in the community. The story intensifies as Brad and Stella reach out to a desperate Sally, offering shelter and hope. This new-found hope is threatened by unforeseen challenges only to realize later that God had a better plan. Thank you, Dave Barkey, for another inspiring book and Im already anticipating the next. Book excerpt: The Bible is the most quoted book in the western world, and likely the most misunderstood. It is often thought to be little more than religious mythology, or a collection of moral and ethical guidelines, or a series of quaint but irrelevant legends. But what if the Bible were read on its own terms, as a highly personal and unbelievably passionate love story? What if the Bible is really a wild tale of relentless pursuit, the diary of a God who can’t bear to be separated from the people he loves? In God on Paper you’ll share in a conversation that takes a new look at Scripture, a dialogue that entertains doubts and questions about the value–and the validity–of the Bible. And you’ll encounter an amazing love story of divine proportions. Go ahead and join the conversation. You might be surprised by what you find.

This story is an allegory of apologetics that will identify these stumbling blocks and help equip the believer to counteract them. This story will also cause you to think deeply about what you believe in light of God's judgment. As you journey with the animals you will be encouraged as your faith is strengthened with each encounter. Relax, get comfortable, and begin reading a story like no other!

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For as far back as I can remember, I have told stories. I can take nearly any situation or event and make a funny story of it. Life is too short to miss out on the fun part. Also for many years I have been writing articles and short stories for various newsletters, newspapers, and even national magazines; some paid but most for free. I enjoy writing to entertain, to inform, and to educate. I have a different view of the world than the average person and not afraid of sharing it. I have, for many years, wanted to write a book but thought that anything I would have to say would be out of date before I finished the book. And then one day, not too long ago, I had an epiphany life stories, humor, fun philosophy, and basic life lessons don't go out of date. So I wrote this book. The book is a collection of family stories, tall tales, a few reprints of previously published newspaper articles, a little fun philosophy, and a technical issue or two. Except for a very few of the stories, as noted in the stories, all are original works of mine. The contents are, as you will notice, printed and listed simply, alphabetically. I thought this random arrangement would minimize the potential for one to lose interest and fall asleep reading various versions of the same thing. My intent in writing this book was not just to make some extra cash, but to put down in writing, in a more permanent form, some of my life's experiences, crazy ideas, and a little technical correctness, for family, friends, and a few others to enjoy. Please enjoy.

John Piper's contemporary classic draws on key biblical texts to demonstrate that worship is the ultimate goal of the church and that proper worship fuels missionary outreach. Piper offers a biblical defence of God's supremacy in all things, providing a sound theological foundation for missions. He examines whether Jesus is the only way to salvation and issues a passionate plea for God-centredness in the missionary enterprise, seeking to define the scope of the task and the means for reaching 'all nations'. Let the Nations Be Glad! is a trusted resource for missionaries, pastors, church leaders, youth workers, seminary students, and all who want to connect their labours to God's global purposes. This third edition has been revised and expanded throughout and includes new material on the 'prosperity gospel'.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The plays of Leopold Szor focus on the effects of the Holocaust on those who lived through it. In his words, "survival confers no automatic nobility" and his fascination with the randomness of survival is prevalent throughout his work. Leo's plays, set both in wartime Poland and post-war Europe and America, explore the ways in which both oppressors and oppressed managed to survive the nightmare of war and the effect it had on their psyches. His characters live in a world of constant conflict: romance and pragmatism, fear and greed, ruthlessness and altruism, and the ghosts haunting those who made it out alive. In his forward, Szor says survival "bestows an obligation to speak out until the last breath" and it is in the spirit of this obligation that these plays were written. Leopold Szor was born in 1921 in Lwow, Poland. He spent his boyhood years in Cracow and then moved to Warsaw to attend university, but was interrupted on the first day of classes by the German invasion of Poland and forced to flee eastward. He returned to Lwow and attended art school during the Russian Occupation. After the Nazis invaded Leo was sent to the notorious Janowska concentration camp. He miraculously escaped, and after a daring flight into Russia he participated in the liberation of Poland as part of the re-formed Polish army. After the war Leo immigrated to the United States, where he has lived for the past 60 years. He has a son, Daniel, who lives in London and three grandchildren: Henry, Alex and Emily. Leo lives in New York City with his long-time companion Tove.
