Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In my years of studying the Bible, I have found several spiritual principles to be very appealing. I have read the promises about the possibility of being an overcomer. In the seven letters of Revelation 2 and 3, one reoccurring thing is the promises to the overcomers. If one thinks about it, you can either be an overcomer or be overcome. The choice is easy: I would rather be an overcomer. I have read the verses about the possibility of living life daily aided by heavenly wisdom. Listen to James 1:5: “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that gives to all men liberally, and upbraids not; and it shall be given him.” I have often asked the church, “On any given day, how often do we need the wisdom to make decisions and find needed direction?” To answer that question with “one hundred” would be conservative. To add to wisdom, we are told that we can tap into the heavenly supplies of strength, energy, power, and patience. According to James 1:5, God’s not going to fuss at you if you keep coming back again and again asking for more. The key to these and all the promises of the Bible are found in the discipline of a daily quiet time. When I was in college, with God’s help, I developed this discipline to attribute any spiritual success, any success, in my Christian life to the help I have found in this daily time with God and my Bible. To remove any excuses, I have written devotionals for my church. We have started in chapter 1, verse 1, of a book in the Bible and have worked our way through it. We have covered Genesis, Exodus, Philippians, and Leviticus, to mention a few; and as long as God gives me strength, we will continue. The pages in this book contain our thoughts and our understanding of our journey through Exodus.

You will feel that you are present witnessing this faith mission. You will experience the poor souls of the world who yearn for love and healing. Over and over again, you will be filled with Pastors sharing the bibles loving message of truth and wisdom. We experience the sacrifice of suffering of Pastors saving souls for our God. One is given tremendous insight into their own lifes faith journey. Yes, the story of Walking with God will change your life as it helps you listen and grow in spirituality with the love of our Savior. Jerry Lemons Senior MSgt. USAF Retired Note: Jerry Lemons has witnessed the suffering of the worlds poorest of the poor in the Philippines, Vietnam and other areas of our world When I first became acquainted with Stanley Rexroth, I was suspicious of his intent. I was teaching in a public school at the time and he was speaking out on an issue that was dividing our district. He then was elected to the school board. We became acquainted by being on opposite sides of a controversial issue but through time we gained a mutual respect for each other and have become friends in recent years. After reading Stanleys autobiography A Walk With God I came to realize that despite humble beginnings, he has led a truly remarkable life. Stanley is a deeply religious man and his book centers upon his growth in faith and service. He served in the USAF and founded mission churches while stationed in the Philippines. He has made numerous mission trips back to the Philippines and to Nigeria throughout his life. He started his own church. As his congregation struggled financially he went to college to become a public school teacher. He taught American history and agriculture, in part to support his congregation. He served his community in various capacities and extended his influence religiously by organizing a national convention of pastors of independent Churches of God, which continues to meet annually after 21 years. Throughout his journey he remained steadfast in his belief in and commitment to his family, his God, and his country. This book can benefit the reader in that many people give up on their attempts to make a commitment to God because they expect a revolutionary event to occur similar to St Pauls conversion on the road to Damascus. A Walk With God enables one to understand that such a commitment is more likely to be an evolutionary process, one that results from an ongoing journey filled with questioning, occasional doubt, and often blind trust. Upon reading this book one cannot help but be reminded of Marks gospel (RSV Ch. 4) where Christ is explaining the kingdom of God with the parable of the sower who went out to sow. In clarifying the parable for his disciples he explains in verse 20, But those [seeds] that were sown upon the good soil are the ones who hear the word and accept it and bear fruit, thirtyfold and sixtyfold and a hundredfold. Stanley Rexroths autobiography, A Walk With God, is the witness of one who represents the seed that fell on good soil. A VIVID PORTRAIT OF HIS LIFE AND MISSION WORK Stanley Rexroth, long time school teacher, pastor and missionary, has written a very interesting account of his life. He is very exacting and detailed in his descriptions of different involvements through the years. If you want to read a good book, which has incidents to which we can all relate, or are interested in mission work, I encourage you to read Stanley Rexroths autobiography, A Walk with God. The stories Bro. Stanley shares of his life are very heartwarming and intriguing. We have served on the mission field together, and I have always looked up to him because of his wisdom and experience. He has been a true brother in the faith. In his first Harvest House book, Josh joins his son Sean to draw on his life’s work and comprehensively address a vital issue: why an entire generation of young Christians—and millions of older believers—is confused about what they believe, why they believe it, and how it’s relevant. The Unshakable Truth is uniquely positioned for younger Christians because it presents apologetics relationally, focusing on how Christianity’s doctrines affect relationships. The authors... ground every assertion in the overarching story of creation, incarnation, and re-creation. distill 12 crucial “faith statements”—for example, “A personal Creator God exists.” explain why each statement is trustworthy, how it applies to real life, and—using examples, stories, and experiences—what its relevance is. A spiritual gold mine for parents, youth workers, pastors—anyone wanting to reveal Christianity’s relevance to today’s life and culture.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Unlocking Galatians Again is a verse-by-verse journey through Galatians. Like an underground cavern it has impressive chambers. Some hidden chambers will need to be opened and explored. Like the sun, St. Paul's epistle to the Galatians shines forth with light. During Luther's time it pierced the darkness. History shows us that when its light grows dim, God's people become like a wilted flower. When its light grows bright, we become like a thriving plant. It teaches us how to walk by faith by telling us where to focus our faith. Translation decisions can sometimes hinder some of its light from shining. For the Christian, a fresh discovery of Galatians can cause a burst of renewal. For the Pastor, it may change the way we preach and care for the spiritual needs of others. Walk with Luther through this cavern. You will discover spiritually impressive sights which he experienced while traveling through Galatians. After being ordained in 1987, Chaplain Clarence Reyneveld served as a Pastor in Illinois, Michigan, and Washington State. Since 1999 he has been involved in a television ministry, producing and presenting Bible Study programs which are aired in many homes mainly in Michigan. His unique blend of training and spiritual involvement gives him important qualifications to write this book.

God met me in the center of my pain, and using the power and truth of His Word, He taught me who I am in Jesus and who He is. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What the heck is a prickly pear? Webster defines it as a spiny pear-shaped edible fruit that grows on the Opuntia cacti found in dry arid climates. So, what correlation does a prickly pear have with us? Well, it’s been said that the world is our oyster, and we are the pearls it produces. However, in this book we will discover that the world is our cactus and we are the prickly pear people it produces. As prickly pear people, we’ve learned to love conditionally, where love must be earned and deserved to gain it, and performance is required to maintain and keep it. That is NOT true of God’s love! Therefore, this book provides a powerful resource to learn to love beyond what we’ve been taught. Within its pages, the attributes of true unconditional love are defined in vivid detail to explore what it is and how it acts. There is also the opportunity to reexamine the common beliefs about love and discover the stark contrast between God’s love and the way the world loves that has been promoted through the media, music, opinions/influences of our peers, and those in our Christian circles. This is a contemplative, life-changing journey that is sure to inspire us to think, speak, and act differently than the world around us in the way we love one another. If you’re ready to find true love in this prickly pear world, your search for a love worth finding begins here!

Book Synopsis Corrosion by : Jon Bassoff

Book excerpt: A mysterious Iraq war veteran with a horribly scarred face…A disturbed young man in a strange mountain town…A masked preacher with a terrible secret…Amidst a firestorm of violence, betrayal and horror, their three worlds will eventually collide in an old mining shack buried deep in the mountains. Corrosion, the shattering debut novel by Jon Bassoff, is equal parts Jim Thompson, Flannery O’Connor and William Faulkner, and an unforgettable journey into the underbelly of crime and passion. Drawn from the darkest corners of the human experience, it is sure to haunt readers for years to come. Praise for CORROSION: “Bassoff confronts directly the traumatic stress disorder of our world today and tears off its mask, even if the face must follow.” —New York Magazine “Corrosion is a beautifully bleak noir novel that stretches the boundaries of the genre to its breaking point. A virtuoso performance by the terrific Jon Bassoff.” —Jason Starr, international bestselling author of The Craving “Like some unholy spawn of Cormac McCarthy’s Child of God and Donald Ray Pollock’s The Devil All the Time, Corrosion offers pungent writing, a cast of irresistibly damaged characters, and a narrative that’s as twisted and audacious as any I have read in a long while. A dark gem.” —Roger Smith, author of Dust Devils “Sharp, original, fierce, a real gut-ripper. Corrosion is one of the most startlingly original and unsettling novels I’ve read in ages. It ramps your pulse, it claws at your sweet spot. Bassoff has a career ahead of him brightly lit by a very bad star.” —Tom Piccirilli, author of the Edgar Award-nominated novel The Cold Spot “Imagine Chuck Palahniuk filtered through Tarantino speak, blended with an acidic Jim Thompson and a book that cries out to be filmed by David Lynch, then you have a flavor of Corrosion. The debut novel from the unique Jon Bassoff begins a whole new genre: Corrosive Noir.” —Ken Bruen, Shamus Award-winning author of The Guards “Jon Bassoff gives new meaning to the phrase ‘Hell on earth’ in his debut novel, Corrosion. It’s a harrowing page-turning tale of lost, misplaced, and mangled identity that barrels its way to breakdowns and showdowns of literal and figurative biblical proportions.” —Lynn Kostoff, author of Late Rain “Jon Bassoff’s stream of conscious novel sports Faulkner-like as this dark tale is told in first person timelines. It will grip and engage and ultimately leave you shaken to the core. Not for the tenderhearted… not no way, not no how. Corrosion is the tale of a man on a mission from God… or is it the Devil? Dare to find out.” —Charlie Stella, author of Johnny Porno “Talk about a book starting one way and then springing something on you…[Bassoff’s Corrosion] is dark and funny and sick, a book as much about identity as it is about crime.” —Bill Crider, author of the Sheriff Dan Rhodes series “Corrosion is a fever dream, a lucid nightmare. It is at once poetic and brutal; hypnotic and vicious; empathetic and heartless. It is the most effective kind of horror—the kind you believe. Reading it is a deeply uncomfortable experience in the best possible way.” —Marcus Sakey, author of The Two Deaths of Daniel Hayes “An archetypal, nightmare journey down a hall of mirrors. Corrosion will burn your eyeballs. Keeps you reading relentlessly to the end.” —Jonathan Woods, author of A Death in Mexico
