Facing all the injustices of Indian social class system where he had to provide big dowries for marrying his sisters and getting into debts. Book Synopsis This Ain't the Summer of Love by : Steve Waksman
Download or read book This Ain't the Summer of Love written by Steve Waksman and published by Univ of California Press. This book was released on 2009-02-04 with total page 406 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Waksman brings a new understanding to familiar material by treating it in an original and stimulating manner. This book tells 'the other side of the story.'"—Philip Auslander, author of Performing Glam Rock: Gender and Theatricality in Popular Music "While there are a number of histories of punk and metal and numerous biographies of important bands within each genre, there is no comparable book to This Ain't the Summer of Love. The ultimate contribution the book makes is to provoke the reader into rethinking the ongoing fluid relationship between punk, a music that enjoyed considerable critical support, and metal, a music that has been systematically denigrated by critics. This book is the product of superior scholarship; it truly breaks fresh ground and as such it is an important book that will be regularly cited in future work."—Rob Bowman, Professor of Music at York University and author of Soulsville USA: The Story of Stax Records "Debunking simplistic assumptions that punk rebelled and heavy metal conformed, Steve Waksman demonstrates with precisely chosen examples that for decades the two shared strategies and concerns. As a result, this important volume is among the first to extend to rock history the same much-needed revisionism that elsewhere has transformed our understanding of minstrelsy, blues, country music, and pop."—Eric Weisbard, author of Use Your Illusion I & II

Download or read book Extraordinary Knowledge written by K. R. and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2012-02-07 with total page 428 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book covers topics such as psychology, science, spirituality, myths and unexplained phenomena, and more. It also covers topics such as spiritual awakening and planetary shifts. This book leads you through the vast amount of information being relayed by the Zetas in answer to questions posed to their emissary, Nancy Lieder. The book also contains information on the government's involvement in the alien and UFO's cover-up. The Earth is scheduled to transition to 4th Density spiritual. After the switch humans will find that all humans, whether they have graduated to a 4th Density spiritual plane or not, have moved. For some entities, they will recall living through the cataclysms and then later through a time when humans seemed more mentally connected and in touch with one another. Then, upon death, they will be moved to another 3rd Density world, with others who will share these memories. Back to 3rd Density, to continue their orientation lesson. Just as living beings, such as the Zetas and humans, can be in different densities, coexisting in the same spot but being unaware of each other, so planets can and do so coexist. 4th Density planets are not as prevalent as planets in the root density, for obvious reasons. Planets are moved to 4th Density only to support life in 4th Density, and most planets do not have any life at all. This book was written in hopes of updating people's minds that we are all immortal spirits on a journey throughout this wonderful Universe God has created.
Download or read book Love Is Oxygen written by Jarrid Wilson and published by NavPress. This book was released on 2017-09-19 with total page 193 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Love. It’s that thing everyone talks about but very few will ever truly put into action. It’s the fuel with which we are called to live, and it’s the very reason Jesus’ body was brutally broken upon that splintered cross. It’s unbeatable, unrestricted, and hands down the greatest attribute of God. It will transform the way you see life, and it will radically invade the way you see others. The question is, have you discovered and harnessed it the way God intended? In Love Is Oxygen, you will engage with the reality of God’s love as something you can know and personally experience. This love transcends fear and circumstances, and it pushes us into places we never imagined. After all, living God’s love is like breathing—it gives life as we breathe it in . . . and then we can’t help but breathe it out to the people around us.

Book Synopsis The Rock 'N’ Roll Waitress at the Hard Rock Cafe by : Rita Gilligan
Download or read book The Rock 'N’ Roll Waitress at the Hard Rock Cafe written by Rita Gilligan and published by Random House. This book was released on 2016-11-03 with total page 242 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Meet Rita Gilligan, Hard Rock Cafe’s original ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll’ waitress and international cultural ambassador and MBE. It was 1971 when Hard Rock first opened its doors in London, and Rita was there with her spunky, chatty, and absolutely lovable personality. Over the forty-five years she served at Hard Rock, Rita has collected quite some stories to tell, including her relationship with rock ‘n’ roll celebrities, Hard Rock’s history, and her own personal life struggles. In this book Rita tells her story from being a shy Catholic schoolgirl in Galway to becoming the best known waitress and later ambassador of one of history's most iconic American style restaurants. She also narrates how she met Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton, The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen and many other famous celebrities during her time at the Hard Rock. Written with candid humour and disarming honesty, Rita serves up a brilliantly crafted story about how the Hard Rock, like herself, defied all the odds to become a global phenomenon.
