Ich bette das Konzept ein in die Richtlinien der Kultusministerkonferenz sowie der UN-Kinderrechtskonvention. Ich betrachte die Grundannahmen, Ziele und Adressat*innen interkultureller Pädagogik und stelle dar, was zu interkultureller Kompetenz gehört. Anschließend befasse ich mich mit einer Herausforderung aus der Praxis: den vielfältigen Herkunftssprachen. Ich stelle zwei Möglichkeiten vor, wie damit umgegangen wird. Zum einen das Konzept von Deutsch als Schulsprache, zum anderen die Integration und Förderung von Herkunftssprachen. Anschließend wird der sprachsensible Unterricht herangezogen, um eine Möglichkeit aufzuzeigen, wie mit unterschiedlichen sprachlichen Herausforderungen im Unterricht umgegangen werden kann. Danach werfe ich in der Diskussion die Frage auf, inwieweit der sprachsensible Unterricht dem integrativen, respektvollen Ansatz der interkulturellen Pädagogik gerecht wird, und stelle den Herkunftssprachen Unterricht vor. Abschließend ziehe ich ein Fazit und gebe einen Ausblick.

Der zweite Teil geht demzufolge auf systematische Aspekte der Interkulturellen Pädagogik ein, auf deren Begriff, auf vier Dimensionen der Immigration.
