El modelo de educación emocional propuesto por las autoras incorpora tres elementos transversales fundamentales: el modelado, el andamiaje y el aprendizaje significativo. Enmarcado en un paradigma humanista-existencial, el programa plantea el diálogo como herramienta fundamental del aprendizaje, el cual se desarrolla en una secuencia que se inicia con la vivencia o exploración de la experiencia, sigue con su comprensión o simbolización y termina con la transferencia y aplicación de lo aprendido a otros ámbitos de la vida. La obra concluye con un resumen sobre los beneficios observados por los docentes participantes de un estudio piloto sobre la implementación del programa.
