It allows people to share ideas, knowledge, tradition and creativity from the past. Communication forges community and builds understanding.Our day began with a tour of Ancaster Town Hall, and the Ancaster Police Museum. From there we moved on to Fieldcote Museum, and then the Hermitage Gatehouse and Griffin House. Naval history was next with a visit to the HMSC Star and the Naval Museum where there is a large collection of women's naval uniforms, among other things. Auchmar House was recommended to us so we added it in as an extra for the day; although the rooms have not been furnished, it was lovely to see the arched hallway and grand staircases. Dundurn Castle and the Military Museum were our next stops; Dundurn Castle is furnished in 1855 style; the Military Museum provide in-depth information on the War of 1812. We finished our day with a stop at Shawn and Ed Brewing Company in Dundas which started in 2016; it is operated in the building that was built in the 1860s as the original Dundas Curling and Skating Rink.
